Books in our established library were arranged according to interests and intellect of the student at the school. Team Maktab collected books for students (age3-12) and placed them in the library under segments: Islamic studies, science studies, story books, mathematics, nursery rhymes, poems and coloring books.
With that, students were given a short lecture on importance of reading delineating how reading can lead us to a new world of imagination and can assist to build strong characters.

In order to establish the library, Team Maktab chose one of these compartments. Members of Team Maktab first cleaned the area and then painted the compartments. The compartments were fine inside but their external appearances were not good. Team Maktab took the brush and painted the compartments blue💙(the color of happiness).

A proper education sets people up to grow personally, professionally, and socially. It can awaken joy, curiosity and a deep desire to solve problems and help others. Team Maktab from Project Miraal aimed to establish a small library in the premises of the slum school of underprivileged children on which the team is working since the start of the project. Members of Team Maktab run a book drive in FCS and LMS campuses of National Defence University. Students and faculty of NDU actively took part in the activity and donated books. Team Member is grateful to all the staff of NDU who helped them achieve this goal successfully.

Self Defense helps to prepare you for unexpected situations and also helps develop increased mental and physical health. Warda Ghafoor and Andaleeb from Team Maktab conducted a pronounced workshop on Self Defense during our last visit. The two members excellently delineated the tactics and strategies of self defense against any type of danger.Also, the children were able to learn the difference between GOOD TOUCH and BAD TOUCH during the workshop. Alhamdulillah, the workshop went successful and our respective team members were able to inculcate all the necessary guidance in the children.

Considering the contagious nature of Corona Virus and the appearance of it's new varient (omicron), Members of Team Maktab provided students with masks to teach and help children maintain the SOPs.

Maintaining a clean environment is for the health of all humans, as their health completely depends on the atmosphere. Team Maktab placed dustbins in every class of our school to help children maintain clean environment of school.
