Scent of the Day: Where Time Walks Backwards by GAIA Parfums | Niche Perfume Pakistan

Some fragrances smell good.
This one remembers.

Where Time Walks Backwards opens bright and clear, citrus, lavender, a soft green freshness, then slowly turns mossy, woody, and warm. The kind of scent that doesn’t rush to impress you. It stays close, settles in, and starts feeling less like a perfume and more like a memory you didn’t expect to meet again.

There’s something beautifully old-souled about it. Reflective, calm, a little nostalgic, but never dusty. More like a quiet moment that lingers longer than it should.

Honestly, it smells like time pausing for a second.

Scent of the Day is Durra by The Spirit of Dubai | روح دبي

It feels airy, but rich. Fresh, but dressed up. Like someone wearing an expensive suit near the sea and somehow making perfect sense. A little dramatic? Yes. But good perfumes are allowed a bit of theatre.

Scent of the Day is Wabi Sabi by .parfums

A discontinued gem

Some fragrances don’t leave the shelf.
They leave a little echo behind.

That’s what Wabi Sabi has always felt like to me. Not loud nostalgia. More like the quiet ache of something beautiful that existed, mattered, and then slipped into memory with grace. A discontinued gem, yes, but the kind that keeps living in conversation long after the bottle becomes hard to find.

It opens with that beautiful meeting of saffron and rose, warm, textured, a little weathered in the best way. Then the florals soften into something deeper, and the base begins to speak: Indian oud, myrrh, sandalwood, ambergris. Not shiny. Not polished in a mass-market way. It wears like old wood, warm skin, a room holding onto silence after everyone has left.

Also, let’s be real, some discontinued perfumes become more charming after they leave. Like that one person who wasn’t fully appreciated until they stopped showing up to the group chat. Suddenly everybody remembers their value. Funny how that works.

So today’s scent is for the ones who understand quiet things.
The ones who know absence has its own shape.
The ones who know not everything rare needs to shout.

Scent of the Day Al Quds by .parfums

You ever spray something and just… forget what you were doing? Hands frozen. Brain gone somewhere else entirely. That’s Al Quds. First spritz and I’m no longer in Karachi, I’m wandering through old stone corridors, somewhere holy, somewhere ancient.
Al Quds means Jerusalem in Arabic. And GAIA Parfums, our very own Pakistani niche house, bottled it. Literally. Part of their Islamic Heritage Collection, crafted by perfumer Anas Sabrani with natural ingredients. The audacity. The talent. 🙌

Opens with Jasmine Sambac and Geranium, soft, a little dewy. Then Saffron and Rose de Mai walk in like they own the place. The base? Assam Oud, To***co Absolute, Patchouli, Cacao, Sandalwood. Layers on layers, like the city it’s named after.

Fair warning though, first spray might feel like a lot. Give it 20 minutes. Let it breathe. It settles into something quieter, warmer, almost like a second skin. That’s how you know it’s serious.

This is the kind of fragrance that makes a regular Friday feel like a moment worth remembering. 🕊️

Scent of Eid Day is Bāb as-Salām by .parfums

Eid mornings already carry their own kind of light, but when Karachi wakes up to rain, everything feels even softer. The streets look gentler, the air feels cleaner, and even the usual Eid rush seems to pause for a second. It’s beautiful. A little emotional too, if I’m being honest. Ramadan has left, Eid has arrived, and the heart is somehow full and missing something at the same time.

That’s exactly why Bāb as-Salām feels right today.

It’s not loud or festive in the usual flashy way. It smells calm. Composed. Like joy with adab.

And honestly, that feels more meaningful on a rainy Eid morning than anything overly loud ever could.

Also, let’s be real, between getting ready, checking if the sheer khurma is done, and making sure the eidis are safe from early attack, a fragrance like this helps you feel put together even before the day fully begins.

Bāb as-Salām wears like quiet celebration. Not noisy. Not restless. Just graceful.

Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones.

❤️

Scent of the Night is Crime & Punishment by .oud

The last fast has ended, and Ramadan leaves behind that familiar ache, gratitude in one hand, quiet sadness in the other. Some nights ask for softness. This one asked for depth.

Crime & Punishment Pure Parfum feels made for reflection. It opens rich and spiced, then turns darker, florals, a touch of bitterness, and finally that dense, musky oud warmth that stays close and serious. Not loud. Not playful. Just full of presence.

Tonight it doesn’t feel like a fragrance.
It feels like atmosphere.

Eid Mubarak from .parfums

Eid has its own kind of beauty.
Soft light in the room. Familiar voices in the house. A table waiting to be shared. A day that feels full before it even begins.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it, fragrance becomes part of the memory.

From all of us at GAIA Parfums, wishing you an Eid ul Fitr filled with joy, warmth, and moments that stay with you long after the day is over.

Eid Mubarak.

Scent of the Night is Bāb as-Salām by .parfums

There’s something about these last nights of Ramadan that softens everything. The streets feel quieter, the heart feels fuller, and even silence seems to carry more meaning. On a night like this, Bāb as-Salām feels less like a fragrance and more like a companion.

The saffron glows softly, the Taif rose feels serene and prayerful, and the frankincense brings that sacred stillness that changes the air around you. Beneath it all, the oud stays polished, calm, and deep.

What I’ve loved most is how beautifully this fragrance has improved over time. The edges have softened, the rose feels more seamless, the incense more luminous, and the oud more settled. It has matured with patience, and somehow that feels right for these final nights of Ramadan too.

Not loud. Never loud. Just present.
