The lost piece of heaven 📍Khun Meadow 🇵🇰
A place so wild and untouched that it almost doesn’t feel real.

This was my third visit to Khun Meadow and every time I leave, I start planning my next trip back.

Surrounded by towering giants rising 6,000–8,000 metres above sea level, this is one of those rare places that reminds you how small you are and how incredibly beautiful our world is.

Khaltaro is the valley nobody tells you about ❤️🇵🇰

A few days in one of Gilgit-Baltistan’s quietest corners, endless meadows, peaceful mornings where you can hear the grass move, and evenings ending with Nanga Parbat glowing in a fiery afterglow. At night, the sky is so full of stars that it feels like you’re in another galaxy.

Keep swiping until the last frame, it’s worth it ✨

The final photo captures the magical afterglow on Nanga Parbat (8,126 m), the 9th highest mountain in the world.

The campsite offered perfect conditions for astro photography. 14th june was completely moonless, while the 15th and 16th brought beautifully dark, star-filled skies.

Settings (most of these images):
• Aperture: f/1.8
• Shutter Speed: 15–20 sec
• ISO: 3200
• Focus: Manual, focused on a bright star using magnified Live View
• White Balance: 3800K
• File Format: RAW
• 5-second timer to avoid camera shake

If you’re shooting on a phone, you can achieve good results by using comparable settings, with slight adjustments to the shutter speed depending on the conditions. Most importantly, use a tripod for the sharpest results.

Captured on the night of 15th June at Surfi Meadow, Khaltaro Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan
From the IRU Backpacking Adventure

Without even planning it, we got incredibly lucky. It was a Super New Moon with 0% illumination, the darkest night of the month and perfect timing for Milky Way season. With no moonlight in the sky, the galactic core rose above the valley in all its glory.
Our camp was at approx 3,260m and after a short 20min hike, this was the view. The tents glowed below, the air was freezing, and the stars kept getting brighter. Spent about an hour there, quietly watching the sky put on a show.
