After I hit “send” on my fall calendar at 8am yesterday, I was immediately catapulted into the wild ride that these mornings bring…deposit invoices, contracts, questionnaires, emails, and all the buzz and binging that comes with a calendar release. It didn’t stop until late morning, when I had a shoot and then got right back to editing.
In all the craziness of what the “I’m sending out my calendar day,” brings, it wasn’t until I got in my car to head to school pickup that it dawned on me that I hadn’t even stopped for a minute to take a moment and give every single thank you to God for a FULL fall calendar. I do not want to sound trite or cliche, but truly, I know I would not be where I am without His hand right here in it.
Never in a million years did I imagine, when I made my very first post on this account in July of 2020, that LFP would be here.
I am literally the most scattered, unorganized, least business-minded person you’ll ever meet, and the odds for this space to ever amount to anything were stacked against me. Yet somehow, in all my chaotic, manic, method, the Lord has continued to open doors of opportunity, and allow LFP to grow and thrive. 🙏🏼 And I never want to lose sight of what a gift that is.
My prayer for every single family I have the privilege of photographing this fall is that you don’t get bogged down in the outfit choices, or the children who aren’t cooperating quite like you hoped they would, or the laugh lines that have gotten a little deeper since your last session.
Instead, I pray you come to your session with one simple expectation…that no matter how the session goes, you will walk away with a gallery you’ll look back on years from now with awe and wonder and think,
“Man. Look at God’s perfect creation.”
Thank you for trusting me with your families this year! It truly is an honor, and I don’t take a second of it for granted. Let’s go, fall 2026!!!!
