Everyone knows I have a thing for camera bags and organization, so I was pretty excited when PGYTECH reached out and asked me to test their OnePro Flex Adventure Camera Backpack.
I decided to go with the 40L version. I already own a few 50L backpacks, and while they’re great when I need to carry a lot, they’re simply too big for most day trips. So far, 40L feels like a really good middle ground.
After using the backpack for the past two weeks, there’s a lot I like about it. The whole bag feels very well thought out. It looks surprisingly compact when it’s not expanded, but once you need the extra space, you can fit a lot more inside. The frame is ergonomic and, most importantly for me, very comfortable to carry for an entire day, even fully loaded.
I tested the L camera cube, which fits all my camera gear and fills almost the entire backpack. With the M cube, you can dedicate roughly half of the backpack to camera gear and use the rest for clothes, food and other essentials - probably the setup I’d choose for most adventures.
The material is splash-resistant and really easy to clean, and there’s also side access to the camera, which I’m already used to using with my other backpacks, so it fits naturally into my workflow.
One thing I’m still getting used to is the main rear compartment opening. The zipper goes around the shoulder straps and the back side opens to the side, which means I can’t easily grab the bag by a strap and move it around while the compartment is open. But this is also my first backpack with this type of opening, so it might simply take some getting used to.
Overall, after two weeks of testing, my experience has been very positive. And I’ve already caught myself looking through Pgytech France other products to see what else might make it onto my gear list 👌🏼
