Claudines.artnook Art | Photography | Gardening After 9 years abroad in Saudi Arabia, I’m happily settled back in the U.S., now calling the beautiful Texas Hill Country home 🏡🌿.

My journey reignited my love for creativity—from travel photography 📸 to a wide range of artistic projects 🎨. These days, I’ve traded the camera for the studio and garden, spending time painting, sewing, crafting, design, and woodworking. After building a greenhouse, though, most of my time is now spent growing things and keeping them alive 🌱🌸. Creating is definitely my happy place. 🙌 💖✨

It’s that time again—sorting seeds, creating a couple of new seed packet designs, and putting everything together for my upcoming garden club meeting. 🌱

Each packet features one of my original watercolor paintings, scanned and transformed into a custom seed envelope. It makes me happy to share a little of both my art and my garden with fellow gardeners. 💚

Well… it turns out I didn’t just have a stress fracture in my foot—I also had a ruptured ankle tendon. I’m now three weeks into recovery after surgery and finally able to put weight on my right foot again. It’s been quite the journey, but I’m looking forward to leaning back into my creativity and getting started on new projects!

In the meantime, here’s a sweet surprise from my patio garden. I honestly didn’t expect these to survive while I was sidelined, but thanks to my “nurse”—my husband!—these beautiful pink and white asters are thriving. 🥰🌸✨

My most detailed and vibrant Kinusaiga piece to date is finally complete! This project came with plenty of challenges, and I had to adapt and pivot throughout the process. Finding the perfect fabrics made all the difference — thanks to treasures discovered at a local quilt shop and Amazon, the koi fish came together with the perfect blend of colors.

Between switching internet providers (no internet for 4 days 😅) and finding out I have a stress fracture in my foot 🤦‍♀️, I’ve been forced to slow down — which has led to a lot of crafting.

I created seed packets using my own paintings for my garden club, along with a few framed watercolor paintings that were given away as prizes. One of the winners even asked where I sell my art 😊 I told her I just paint for fun — I never imagined someone would actually want to buy it!

I’m also really getting into Kinusaiga art and absolutely love it. My koi piece is currently on pause while I wait for some fabric to arrive.

Took a little break from painting 🎨 to try something completely new—an art form I hadn’t even heard of until recently: Kinusaiga. Being a bit of a perfectionist 🤦‍♀️, I ended up laying it out in Photoshop first.

I used a mix of fabric scraps and some fat quarters I picked up from Hobby Lobby. It was a bit of a challenge at first, but once I found my rhythm, everything started to come together.

I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Now I’m sitting here wondering… what should I try next? 🤔

✨⛪️🇮🇹🍕✨📸 Photos from my Italy trips that inspired my current painting collage project!

Italy is truly one of my favorite places to visit—the incredible food, beautiful architecture, timeless city charm, and warm, charismatic people make it unforgettable. I’m excited to translate all of that inspiration onto a 24×36” canvas!🖌️🖼️🎨
