Steve Golden Photography Steve Golden is an Asia based travel and documentary photographer. His latest book,"Heritage Shops of Singapore," was nominated for a Singapore Book Award.

Steve Golden is an Asia-based freelance photographer. Arriving in Tokyo with a backpack and $200, he has now been in Asia for 25 years. His first career was in publishing, where he worked with Cambridge University Press and then SAGE Publications as founder of their Asia-Pacific operation. Steve then took up a rare opportunity to work as a strategic advisor for Lonely Planet, a path which led him

to pursue a lifelong dream of being a freelance travel photographer. He a regular contributor of photographs to magazines, books, and websites worldwide. His latest book, "Faces of Yangon," was published in 2020, and the work was exhibited in the Leica Gallery in Singapore. He is presently a director at LASALLE College of the Arts. At the heart of Steve's work are portraits of real people he encounters in his travels. Cultural themes such as the role of Buddhism in daily life factor prominently. His work evolved to include landscapes while spending summers hiking in the mountains of Japan. Recent work has included black and white images of Singapore during the COVID lockdown.
