UPDATE : The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) has officially shifted the venue for the upcoming 43rd SPLA Day celebrations from the John Garang Mausoleum to Juba National Stadium.

The announcement was made on Monday by Jimmy Atilio, Deputy Chairperson of the May 16 High-Level Organizing Committee, during a press briefing at the SPLM Secretariat in Juba.

Organizers confirmed that all activities initially planned for the John Garang Mausoleum will now take place at Juba National Stadium as preparations for the annual SPLA Day celebrations continue.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Fresh violence linked to the Tonj North Peace Tournament has reportedly erupted again in Juba, with clashes spreading from Medan Munuki Playground to the Eden residential area this morning.

The unrest, allegedly involving groups of youth identified as Lou Mawien, also known as Lou Ariik, first broke out yesterday during the opening ceremony of the tournament after a match ended in a goalless draw.

According to eyewitnesses, tensions resumed early today in Eden, where rival groups were reportedly seen confronting each other using sticks, pangas, and suspected fi****ms. One person is said to have sustained critical injuries as panic spread across the area.

Security authorities have not yet released an official statement as residents continue to call for urgent intervention to prevent further escalation.
