When I was working in Saudi Arabia as a nurse for almost four years, I discovered a completely unexpected passion. I bought myself a Canon M50 and a 50mm lens, and I slowly fell in love with shooting candid photos. I would bring my camera on my days off or sometimes after shifts, and my colleagues were always happy to let me take their pictures. Even patients and their relatives would ask me to take theirs whenever they noticed my camera. There was something so special about capturing real, unposed moments—smiles, conversations, the quiet in-between scenes of hospital life. Photography became a little escape for me, a way to find beauty even in the middle of stress and homesickness.
