6inchPlus Green Scar Hulk

Got my hands on one of the most impressive Hulk action figures in the 1/12 scale : 6inchplus Green Scar Gladiator Hulk! This thing might genuinely be one of the best Hulk figures on the market right now, at least until their green golem comes out!

They nailed his massive frame and build - the proportions, sculpt and sheer amount of detail throughout the body give Hulk the look and presence I've always wanted next to my other 1/12 Marvel figures. Add all the swappable gladiator armor and weapons on top of that and he looks ridiculous in the best possible way.

6inchplus absolutely nailed that huge, brutal Green Scar look without making him feel like a statue, and I'm already thinking about all the World War Hulk setups I can put together with him. He moves so much better than I expected and the texture and detail on the headsculpts are definitely incredible!

Had a lot of fun with the unboxing, but now I really need to get this guy in front of the camera properly. I've got plenty of Marvel characters on the shelf who are just asking for a good ol' Hulk smash!

"Hell answers to me"

That new Avengers: Doomsday trailer gave me another excuse to get Doctor Doom back in front of the camera!

Tried recreating some of that overwhelming power we got from Doom in the trailer, really feel sorry for Thor in the MCU right now. The Avengers are throwing everything they have at him and the man's barely flinching. That and how they flipped the "I am Iron Man" was pretty cool, right after he turned Thor into a punching bag.

Every new look we get at Avengers: Doomsday gets me running to the shelf for my mezco Doom. I did rush a little on these two so not my best work, and at this rate he's probably going to end up being one of my most photographed Marvel villains before the movie even gets here - and this is before the Shf MCU figure comes out as well!

The Grand Regent

Been wanting to get back to some Invincible photos for a while, and finally getting this new custom Thragg figure gave me the perfect excuse!

Had to put Thragg right in the center for his first proper shot, with Mark and Nolan coming at him from both sides. Even with the two of them closing in, I wanted Thragg to just stand there unfazed. The size of this figure along with poor Battle Beast draped around his shoulders definitely helped sell that!

I actually reused my Avengers: Doomsday setup from last week for this one. Really liked how that whole background came together and didn't want to tear it apart just yet, so I swapped Doom out for Thragg and turned it into an Invincible setup instead.

Been waiting to add Thragg to the collection for a while and I'm really happy with how this custom looks alongside all my Invincibles and Nolan/Omni Man. Now for the wait until Jada gets Conquest and Battle Beast out!

Last Man Standing

Wasn't able to get as much done as I wanted this weekend, so figured I'd dig through some older photos and bring back a few of my favorites. Had to start with Batman!

Suit torn apart, bloodied up, barely holding together... but somehow he's still the one walking away. Superman definitely didn't have the same luck in the background. All thanks to Custom Poser for the Batman headsculpt to complete the battle damage look I wanted for this mafex action figure!

I remember having a lot of fun putting all the diorama pieces together for the city look and also finally getting my hands on a custom battle damaged Superman. These two going head to head might be old news nowadays for both DCComics and DC movie universe, but they're still fun to photograph!

Doomed to fail

Couldn't resist going back for another Avengers: Doomsday inspired setup.

This time I swapped in the Marvel Legends Doctor Doom with a soft goods upgrade and custom head sculpt by customswatcher . Wanted to push things a little further from my last shot too, so instead of recreating a poster, I went for a battle aftermath. Thor, Mr. Fantastic and Cyclops are already down, leaving Steve Rogers as the last one standing, wielding Mjolnir alone like he did against Thanos.

One thing I really like about the whole Doomsday concept is seeing Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans share the screen again, but from a completely different perspective. After spending so many years as Iron Man and Captain America, it's going to be strange seeing them on the opposite sides of a fight in a new angle like this one. That dynamic alone has me really curious to see how the MCU pulls it off.

I also just realized that some of the Doomsday action figures from SHF are going to be releasing before the movie so super excited for those to land!

Your move!

Been waiting for these two ever since SHFiguarts announced them and they certainly didnt disappoint! insTamashii really nailed the stylized look and expressions from the Yu-Gi-Oh anime for these two.

Had to put up a tribute to what was once my favorite show on tv as a kid - Kaiba walking in with Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Yugi backed up by Dark Magician... really wanted the first shot to be a split composition between the two. The individual photos follow them right after so dont forget to swipe!

The amount of expression packed into these figures is impressive. Kaiba has that same "I'm about to end this duel in three turns" look, while Atem just has that calm confidence like he's already seen how this plays out. The articulation is solid too, which made getting those card poses a lot easier than I expected. Its not perfect though, there are issues I have with these two, including something being slightly off with Kaiba's headsculpt.

Really hoping this is just the start of SHF diving deeper into Yu-Gi-Oh! I'd love to see Joey, Marik, Pegasus, and the God Cards get the same treatment!

All Roads Lead to Doom.

Ever since Marvel Studios dropped this look of Dr. Doom for Avengers: Doomsday, this image has been living in my head. I had to see if I could recreate it using the Mezco Dr. Doom!

I spent way longer than I’d like trying to get the lighting right, then went on a side quest hunting for diorama pieces that would actually fit the scene. Once that was sorted, I realized I didn’t even have proper steps… so I improvised with mini platforms stacked for a budget stairway setup!

Last but not least: that glorious green cale. In the artwork, Doom’s cape is flowing all the way down the stairs. Mezco's, however, was more practical and short. So I took a second shot with Doom lying down, stretched the cape over my DIY staircase setup, and then blended both images in Photoshop to get this final look!

I’m really curious to see what Marvel does with Doom and Robert Downey Jr - but the trailers and teasers look promising. If they manage to capture even half that presence on the MCU big screen, we’re in for something seriously awesome!

Mafex T-1000

Finally got my hands on the MAFEX T-1000, and as a huge Terminator 2 fan, this was one I've been looking forward to for a long time. Despite a string of QC issues this one definitely feels like another decent mafex addition to the Terminator line.

First impressions are really good. The likeness to Robert Patrick is recognizable, and all the different portraits capture that cold, emotionless look that made the T-1000 so intimidating. The accessories are just as fun too—especially all the liquid metal weapons and interchangeable parts that let you recreate so many iconic scenes from the movie. Had to try a little stop motion again and probably the closest I got to something presentable!

Can't wait to start putting together some T2-inspired shots with him. I've already got a few ideas in mind... now it's just a matter of figuring out which scene to tackle first!

Avengers Day Off!

Not every day is world-ending, and with Marvel Studios Doomsday on the horizon I thought I'd mix it up and do something a little lighter.

Marvel Comics Avengers roaming the New York, grabbing some street food like it’s just another afternoon in the city! Cap’s up front making sure the order’s right and making a little kid's day. Thor’s not too pleased with trying any earth delicacies at the moment. Iron Man’s clearly not waiting in line like everyone else and Spiderman is up in the background impatiently looking for another stand!

All thanks to .fiction for the amazing city street props that helped make this look like a real sidewalk stop instead of a generic setup!

Something to prove

Just watched the new live action trailer and had to go back and pull these out for today!

Haven't featured Storm Arena Ken in a while, but this felt like the right time. Looks like they're giving him a big redemption arc, and I'm all for it. Sounds like there's a lot of mixed feelings for this Street Fighter movie, but growing up with games got me loving the campy vibes from the trailer all the more!

Ken Master's portrayal in particular is looking good - confident, a little reckless, but when he locks in, it’s a wrap! I'm looking forward to seeing them do his flame effects since they gave a tease of Ryu's hadoken in the trailer. For my photos here wanted to give it an overall warm fire lit feeling to match Ken's move set.
