Hey there! My name is Tonya Dmytriv and I am here to capture your moments. I was born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine and in my teens moved to the U.S.

to get a higher education here. All the turbulence along the way have built in me strong work ethic and integrity. Growing up, I always wanted to and to present day, want to help people yet the creative mind never sleeps. So here I am, pausing my medical degree path and giving my dreams a chance. We have now to live. With that being said, I am always eager to explore diverse photography projects and bring creativity to every shot. Let's collaborate and capture extraordinary together.

Espresso Martini self serving bar? At Chicago History Museum? In summertime? Yes baby!

Looking back at K & F wedding day at Chicago History Museum, there is not a single bit we would change. From stress-free getting ready at Hotel Lincoln, to private first look at the museum (which allowed to knock out all the family formals and couple portraits so K & F could enjoy the cocktail hour), to outdoor ceremony, and plenty of time at the end of the day to simply enjoy the paaaaaarty.

When it comes to timelines, everyone wants the same thing, a day that feels effortless. From you two to your planning team, we’re always stepping in wherever needed to shape a timeline that actually works. One that flows, gives you breathing room, and gives us the time to capture your story with full attention and intention. Because your wedding day happens once, and there are a lot of moving parts that need to come together seamlessly.

Here are a few things we always tell our couples:

• Build buffer time into everything — the best moments usually live in the in-between.

• Don’t pack your schedule too tight — rushing kills the energy more than anything else.

• Plan your getting ready time realistically (it always takes longer than you think).

• Trust your vendors — we’re there to guide you, not just show up and film.

• Leave space to actually feel the day — not just move through it.

At the end of it all, a good timeline isn’t about perfection. It’s about creating space for real moments to happen and making sure nothing important gets missed.

If you ever ever feel like your timeline needs a second set of eyes, we are always here for you. Fully.

Chicago Cultural Center wedding we will keep coming back to until we shoot our next one there 🤪 When it comes to weddings & our .arts team , you can expect the following:

• two lead cinematographers who show up for you fully [we don’t have second shooters, it’s two of us — Tonya & Stan— always]
• we will interview your friends and family at your wedding [yes, yes because what’s better than hearing the best stories and warmest wishes?]
• we will put bridesmaids and groomsmen to work [ ironing the veil, removing sweat, cleaning up space for those “candid shots”]
• five cameras (seven if you count camcorders) with seven sources of audio so every whisper and every laugh is backed up

RPM Events Wedding vibes 🥹 From an intimate first look and private vows to church ceremony and destroying the trolley’s dance floor. Let’s backtrack to RPM Events tho. There is something about RPM Events that has its own charm. Having shot there (what it feels like) 50 times now, it can feel tricky to work there for someone who is new. Low ceilings and dark cocktail hour space really test your skills and understanding of light. The moody atmosphere tho 😍And every other venue in Chicago after this one? Feels like a piece of cake.

That terrace with river views and delicious food outperforms any downsides of the space…. Plussss you kinda need less decor to bring out the character of the space.

The Cuneo Mansion wedding moments we will always keep coming back to. There is just something truly special about capturing all the raw, unfiltered energy from your wedding day. That’s what makes the day truly yours. (spoiler, go watch the full wedding film on our website)

On the subject of moments, almost all “documentary” moments at weddings are still guided by the people behind the cameras. That word gets used a lot in wedding marketing, but the truth is a little more nuanced.

A great photographer or filmmaker is not just standing in the corner waiting for life to magically unfold. They are present. They read the room. They create space for moments to happen while quietly guiding the energy when it needs a little nudge.

That is why we always say your wedding film will highlight the energy that is already there. The laughter, the nerves, the chaos, the bloopers. Our job is simply to notice it and make sure it lives forever.

Being a fly on the wall has its place, but your wedding day deserves people who are willing to fully show up for you.

Your only task is to choose those people wisely. The rest will take care of itself.

2025. Where do we begin… The most transformative year of our lives. We met so many incredible, genuine, and talented people. We dived deeper into our craft and what truly makes us happy, connection and documenting love. We took the leap and expended to destinations. Oh boy! what an experience that was and how grateful we are. (We can’t wait to fly out again!) It was the most beautiful and, at the same time, hustle heavy year. We shot 37 weddings. Some of which were ours and some of which were assisting other photographers/videographers. Not to mention five destination weddings all over the US thrown in there. We went through highs and lows. We learned to value how much work we put into each film & how we shouldn’t be shy about when .arts was founded. We launched Forget Me Not Arts in September of 2024. Hands, feet, paws down — the best decision we’ve ever made. (Second after marrying each other). What a blessing it is to share this journey with someone you love. We also enjoyed life whenever possible. Despite the ongoing war happening in our home country all the geopolitical issues. Attended festivals, ate homegrown food, played silly with Cookie (our corgi), ate delicious food (did we mention how much we love food?), and spent time with friends and family. Honestly, not as much as we would want to, but we understand that, that’s just the chapter we are in right now. Hence, we are limiting the number of weddings we will take next year. Anyways! We wanted to thank each couple who trusted us, laughed with us, and cried with us. We have you crying in 4K quality on all of our hard drives now))) and we are so honored to call you our friends. Thank you.

2025 — we will miss you deeply. Thank you for introducing us to so many incredible people and their families.

2026 — we can’t wait to live, laugh, cry, and share all the incredible stories with loved ones!

Whatever you do in 2026, do it with utmost love and kindness.
