We often think "more props = better photo," but sometimes, more layers = better photo.
For this shot of The Ordinary, I didn't need to fill the entire studio with silver balloons. Instead, I used the power of compositing.
I photographed a small cluster of balloons from multiple different perspectives and carefully stitched them together in post-production. This technique allowed me to build a dense, immersive background that looks like a high-budget set, without the waste or the mess.
It’s not just about capturing an image; it’s about crafting a vision that elevates the product.

It began, as these things often do, with a single bottle.

What followed was a carefully orchestrated study of light, color, and composition. I've documented the process in a most particular fashion.

Perhaps your own subject is awaiting its moment? I stand ready to discuss the arrangement.

💡 Finding Balance in Minimalism - Huxley Product Photography

For this shoot, I wanted to capture the essence of balance and simplicity, values that reflect Huxley’s clean and refined aesthetic.

The idea came from the concept of natural harmony: soft lighting, minimal composition, and organic textures. I used smooth white stones to represent purity and stability, paired with a warm gradient background to add a touch of depth and sophistication.

My goal was to let the product speak for itself, no distractions, just form, texture, and light working together to create calm elegance.

📸 Focus: Product form & balance
🎨 Mood: Minimal, pure, and sophisticated
💡 Lighting: Soft studio setup

I love projects like this, where simplicity becomes the story.

Nature meets skincare. 🌱

This aloe-based emulsion was photographed with freshness and purity in mind - the water droplets, natural green palette, and plant textures all reflect the product’s story.

As a product photographer, my goal is to capture more than just an item, I capture the feeling behind it. Whether it’s skincare, cosmetics, or wellness, your brand deserves imagery that speaks to your customers.

✨ Why Colour Matters in Product Photography 🎨📸

Let’s talk colour! It’s not just a pretty detail—it’s one of the most powerful tools in product photography. Whether you’re shooting skincare, makeup, or your fave handmade candles, colour can totally change the way your product feels.

🌈 Colour sets the mood. Soft pastels can make a product feel calming and luxurious, while bold, vibrant tones scream fun and energetic. It all depends on what vibe your brand wants to give.

🧠 Colour affects perception. Yep, our brains actually associate colours with emotions. Think: yellow = energy, green = natural, blue = clean, pink = playful. When used intentionally, colour can tell your brand story before a single word is read.

🛍️ It attracts your people. A scroll-stopper image often has colour harmony that just feels right. Your ideal customer might not realize it, but colour is one of the first things that grabs their attention—and keeps them looking.

⚡️Pro tip: Use colours that align with your branding, but don’t be afraid to experiment a little. Even a pop of contrasting colour can make your product shine.

So next time you’re planning a shoot, give colour a front-row seat. It’s not just decoration—it’s strategy.

Let’s showcase your products in the most vibrant light!

Hi, I’m Ellen!

My deep love for skincare and makeup, combined with my background in retouching, led me to product photography. I’ve always been captivated by the beauty industry—there’s something mesmerizing about how a product can transform, inspire, and empower.

As a product photographer, I focus on capturing the essence of each product, from the silky texture of a moisturizer to the rich pigment of a lipstick. My style is all about clean, intentional compositions that highlight the details that make each product special. I believe product photography should evoke a feeling—whether it’s luxury, freshness, or playfulness—and that’s what I strive to create with every image.

Beauty products are more than just items—they’re experiences, and my goal is to bring that experience to life through photography.

Behind the Scenes of a Skincare Product Photoshoot: Clean, White, and Oh-So-Fresh!

Have you ever wondered what goes into capturing the perfect shot of a skincare product? It’s not all about fancy equipment and perfect lighting (well, okay, maybe a little bit about that!). A photoshoot with a clean, white background is like a blank canvas where the magic happens—let me walk you through it!

Why We Love a White Background for Skincare

Pure and Simple: White backgrounds just feel fresh, right? They instantly give that clean, luxurious vibe. And when you’re showcasing skincare, what better way to tell your audience that your product is all about purity and pampering?

No Distractions: The beauty of a white backdrop is that it lets the product shine. All the intricate details—whether it’s the smooth texture of a moisturizer or the sleek design of a serum bottle—are front and center. No distractions, just the product doing its thing!

Consistency Is Key: Whether you're scrolling through Instagram or browsing a website, you’ll notice that clean, white backgrounds create a cohesive vibe. Everything looks polished and professional, and let’s be honest—who doesn’t want their skincare brand looking top-notch?

Lighting Love: Here’s where the magic happens! White backgrounds allow you to play around with light in all the right ways. Soft, natural light makes everything glow just a little brighter, while studio lights help highlight the texture of your product. The result? A photo that’s as smooth as the product itself.

It’s Like a Chameleon: A white background goes with EVERYTHING. You can edit the colors, throw in some graphics, or even match it with your brand’s color scheme. It’s like the perfect blank slate, ready for whatever creative touch you want to add!
