HOW WEDDING COORDINATORS/ TIME KEEPERS KILL YOUR CHANCES OF HAVING STUNNING PHOTOS!!

You Won't Believe How Much Time We Fought For!

10 minutes into the garden photo session, the timekeeper interrupted, saying,

'I've given you only 5 minutes; the bridal party needs to head to the reception.' I was both shocked and angered.

We had only spent 5 minutes at Speke resort.

When I tried to explain, he shouted,

'You have 4 minutes left, stop wasting time.'

He even took over posing the wedding entourage, making matters worse.

I was a mix of shock and anger.

We'd only spent 5 minutes here, and I hadn't even captured half of the shots I had planned.

He was annoying, but I chose to stay composed and continue shooting.

Even while arranging creative shots with the bridal party, he considered it a waste of time.

Throughout, he counted down the minutes, which grew increasingly infuriating.

The timekeeper had transformed into some form of bad energy, but I kept my cool and pretended not to hear.

The thought of delivering rushed, mediocre photos due to not asserting my role as a photographer motivated me.

So, I turned to the timekeeper and firmly requested an entire hour for the shoot.

I also asked him to let me exercise my creativity and asked him to leave the scene.

He refused, saying guests are getting tired at the reception.

Mind you reception was to start in about 2hours.

I explained that the photos were the lasting memory of the event.

Munange, as we were exchanging words, (nga gatubugumye), the groom intervened and asked how much time I needed.

I told him, and he instructed the timekeeper to wait in the car.

That's how I managed to capture remarkable photos of the couple.

Thankfully, the groom understood my perspective, and that's why their photos turned out amazing.

To all future brides,

Don't compromise on rushed, mediocre photos!

Allocate at least 1.5 hours for your official photo sessions.

Effective communication with your wedding team is vital, as capturing great photos takes time.

Rushing the photographer may result in too few photos that fail to do justice to your investment.

Spending 100 million on decorations and a wedding gown only to have them not feature in your album or videos is a mistake to avoid.

Imagine having your wedding photoshoot at sunset, with the golden light casting a romantic and dreamy ambiance, resulting in breathtaking photos.

Dedicate a minimum of 1.5 hours to official photo sessions and collaborate with your wedding team to ensure every detail is captured beautifully.

This is the most valuable long thing you will read today.

I know planning a wedding can be stressful and tiring.

From calling service providers,
Coming up with gift ideas for him.

to finding out whether your mum removed 137 people she last spoke to 10 years ago from your guest list.

Its, stressing and it feels like it can never end!

Phwee!! It can be tiring.

And that's not all,
Your wedding day its self can be exhausting!

Because of this many brides turn up to their weddings with pimple outbreaks, puffy red eyes.

They define the the word broken, torn and tired!

People lie but cameras don't, they capture all that stress dump as it is on your face.

Ofcourse, some excessive makeup can hide a bit of it but...

But it shouldn't be that way when you do this.

You see, getting plenty of rest the night before can help ensure that you look and feel your best for your photos.

Aim for at least 8 hours of sleep and try to avoid any late-night activities that could leave you feeling tired or drained.

I remember the bride who woke up with red eyes on the wedding morning that even eye whiteners could not do anything.

When she peeped at the back of my camera screen, and she saw red eye.

I saw her confidence get flashed down the drain.

Thank God for photoshop. I encouraged her and told her the eyes would be whitened in editing.

This did not rub all the self doubt she had got.

So i advised her to take some water and told her a few hours of sipping would restore the glow in her eyes.

This worked like charm though not completely.

So if you want to look your very best and have stunning wedding photos.

Get plenty of rest.

At the end of the day, all you have left after the wedding ceremony are Your photos.

Avoid make Up disasters on your wedding.
If you want to have amazing photos.

Avoid trendy makeup.
Any makeup that takes away from your true beauty instead of enhancing it is a NO!

I remember years back i saw a very beautiful bride whose makeup artist chose to give her a very colorful hot pink eye shadow.

Because a smokey eye was trending then, the hot pink was combined with a smokey eye.

And when the photos came out, didn't love how she looked in the photos and she requested us to edit every photo and reduce the makeup.

Back then there was much we could do. So she had to take what we had captured.

Can you imagine spending the rest of your marriage with photos you hate due to poor make up choices!?

If you are a bride reading this,

1. please find a proffessional makeup artist, (not your friend who watches makeup videos on youtube).

2. I Personally advise brides to do a n**e makeup look because it is timelessly beautiful.

3. Ask your make up artist about your undertones so that you get the right lipstick that looks amazing on you.

Undertones is kinda like your natural instagram filter that determines which lip stick looks good on you.

The reason as to why some people wear the same lipstick and one person looks amazing while the other looks like their lips were cut off with a wiered upleasant look is because of Undertones.

This is a topic for another day.

That said. Your makeup plays a significant role on how your photos will look.

Make it a priority.
