Feeling a little sentimental today đ¤
Sharing a few moments from Andee + Chrisâs wedding that have stayed with me.
Today marks the anniversary of my own motherâs passing, and Iâve been thinking about Andee, who lost her mom not long after this dayâand later, her beloved uncle as well.
We always aim to create beautiful, editorial images. But it never feels lost on us that weâre being invited into something so much deeperâyour inner circle, your real life, your once-in-a-lifetime moments. Our couples often share the what theyâre most excited about is having all of their friends, family and favorite people together in the same room for the first and maybe the only time ever. Sometimes, these are the last moments youâll share with someone you love.
Thatâs why we pay just as much attention to the in-betweenâthe tears, the laughter, the quiet touches, the people who mean everything.
It was supposed to rain that day, but it held off just long enough. During the ceremony, officiated by her uncle, with her mom by her side, a butterfly passed throughâlike something you couldnât plan if you tried (but Jaylene from was lucky enough to capture and share with Andee). And weâre so grateful her mom was there for it all⌠helping her get dressed, fluffing her gown, standing beside her on one of the most meaningful days of her life.
Spring is a season of new beginningsâbut even the most beautiful days can carry weight.
Itâs not uncommon for us to work with couples who have lost a parent, and itâs something we hold with so much care. Being a calm, grounding presence in those spacesâoffering not just sympathy, but real empathyâis an honor we donât take lightly.
For Patty, for Mary, and for all the parents and loved ones who are deeply missedâhug your people a little tighter today đ¤
