After much thought, I’ve decided it’s time to turn the page and begin a new chapter. I’ll be stepping away from photography.
Photography has brought me so much joy over the last seven years. I’ve had the privilege of meeting the most wonderful people, building a business I could have only dreamed of when I first started, and capturing so many beautiful moments. This career gave me stability during a season when I needed to be home raising my babies. It introduced me to an incredible community of creatives and, most importantly, gave me lifelong friendships that I’ll always cherish.
As grateful as I am for everything this journey has given me, I’m at a place in life where I’m ready for something new. More than anything, I’m ready to spend my weekends at home with my family. My kids are growing up so quickly, and over the years I’ve missed ball games, recitals, field trips, and countless little moments. Those moments are ones I don’t want to miss anymore.
If you’ve known me for a while, you know that before photography I worked in dentistry. I’m incredibly blessed to be returning to my previous career in periodontics on a part-time basis, and I’m excited to see what this next season of life has in store.
That said, this isn’t goodbye just yet! I have a full wedding season in 2027 and even a few weddings booked for 2028. I plan to give my absolute all during this final season and go out with a bang. I will also be honoring every session currently on my calendar, so if you’re already booked with me, nothing is changing. I can’t say goodbye forever, as I will be offering minis every now and then.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for trusting me with your milestones, your growing families, your weddings, and your memories. Thank you for supporting my small business, cheering me on, recommending me to your friends, and allowing me to do something I truly loved for seven unforgettable years.
This is bittersweet, but my heart is full of gratitude. Gratitude for everything this journey has been and the person I’ve grown to be.
With my whole heart,
Sydney Mae Walker
