Hotel Bethlehem (PA) is a richly atmospheric, “ghost-friendly” historic hotel offering guided ghost tours and a “Room with a Boo!” weekend package. Guests report a little girl seen at a window—believed to be a former owner’s granddaughter—and a woman in period dress who appears in the kitchen and dining room. Visitors also recount apparitions, sudden cold spots, shadowy figures, strange reflections in mirrors and glass, whispered names, phantom taps on shoulders, and objects moving on their own.

Old Jail Jim Thorpe: Alexander Campbell (c.1833–June 21, 1877), a tavern owner hanged alongside three other convicted Molly Maguires for the murders of two mine operatives, maintained his innocence to the end. Before his ex*****on he slapped a muddy handprint on the wall of his cell, vowing the mark would remain as proof of his innocence — and local legend says that despite repeated efforts to remove it, even rebuilding the wall, the handprint still appears today; ghost tours at the Old Jail Museum recount the story.

The Inn at Jim Thorpe: Built in 1833, the inn is reputedly haunted. Guests have reported orbs and shadowy figures in photographs and on their beds; TVs have turned on by themselves, objects have moved, and some visitors awoke to find chairs turned upside-down. Notable guests have included Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, President William H. Taft, Buffalo Bill, Thomas Edison, and John D. Rockefeller.
