Happy one year anniversary to the supercell of a lifetime! This day in our home state of New Mexico was unforgettable. Storm Chaser Tim Baca and myself captured this otherworldly structured storm with multiple amazing compositions. It also yielded the photo that changed my photography career— receiving Grand Prize in the New Mexico Magazine Photo Awards and part of my winning 2025 Storm Photographer of the Year portfolio!

One year ago today Storm Chaser Tim Baca and I chased this massive dusty wedge across west Texas. The Morton tornado was eventually rated an EF3. So far 2026 has been light on tornadoes for us, but I’m hoping June will be more active!

"Where Enchantment Dwells" - On June 7, 2025 the sky in Nara Visa, New Mexico opened like a revelation. A sculpted supercell towered over the horizon gilded by the fading fire of sunset. It was a cathedral of motion carved by light, shadow, and wind. A once in a century storm that imprinted on my heart. When I close my eyes, I can still see the earth awash in its radiance.

Sometimes the best part of chasing isn’t the storms. It’s the people. Loved meeting up with Storm Chaser Brett Wright, Storm Chaser Nenah D, and Storm Chaser David Baxter III in Oklahoma last weekend! I’m so blessed to be surrounded by inspiring friends who have helped shape me into the chaser and photographer I am today.

Storm Chaser Tim Baca and I will be chasing today! Giant hail and tornadoes are real threats as storms fire along a warm front across central and southeast Oklahoma this afternoon. Strong low-level shear, plenty of instability, moisture pooling along the boundary. The environment is there for a significant severe weather day.
