So Lia and I went out to our warm and cozy mini location today to shoot a few test shots. Need more pillows and a way to hang the wall hanging but otherwise, LOVE! Such a fun spot - convenient in downtown Leesburg!

I know it's the middle of summer but I'm already putting my fall schedule together!

The plan is a set of indoor mini's at a studio in Leesburg (winter cozy) and one set of out door mini's in addition to a limited set of full sessions for the families that want more time and larger galleries.

Given the limited number of full sessions, reach out soon if you want on the schedule! I'll post mini dates in the next few weeks.

Been a hot minute. Photos have taken a back seat to life but I pulled out the big guns for my nephews senior photos. I can't believe we're here...I remember the day he was born!

*tap tap tap* is this thing on? It's been incredibly quiet over here for the last 4 months or so. After a really busy fall (so grateful) and a day job that's kicking my butt, I took a long time off from the camera. I barely picked it up over the last 4 months. But, I finally dusted it off because, it's sports season!

Not my typical genre but with two kiddos in sport, it pretty much consumes every weekend, so why not lean in? I added a new lens to my line up that allows me to get up close and personal from the far edges of the field and it's been really fun!

My first memory of this crazy beautiful young lady was from before she should even walk! We were trying to keep her from stuffing all the leaves in her mouth and dancing around like monkeys to try to get her to smile:) Much less dancing this time and zero leaf eating - still just as much fun.

Tonight the last gallery of fall family photo madness goes out to their owners. Now it's time to rest and recharge (and share!). I'm thankful for every single one of these families - many of them ones I get to see year after year and watch their babies grow.

Sometimes this is reality in a family session with small kids and we just roll with it. Their little attention spans don't last long which is why we have fun, dance and be silly between shots and then work fast.

We're in the thick of fall family photos and for the most part mother nature is cooperating! We thought we'd be rained out for this session but the DC snow (err...rain) hole appeared and the clouds parted just in time for Claude Moore with this adorable one!

If you need me, I'll be here at the computer editing way. Send pizza!

(also - I have a crazy idea for mini's in Dec at Oatlands Greenhouse - but only if I can get 4 families to commit to booking sessions - if that sounds interesting with that little information - DM me:) )

Y'all, it's been a hot second since I've been on here! Lots of irons in the fire between kids activities, traveling, and the day job plus just trying to enjoy this season without adding to more chaos. So it's a slow burn before we ramp up into fall family season!

I still have spots in my Claude Moore Oct 14 set of mini's. Oatlands is just about sold out and I'm down to my last 3 or 4 slots for full session in October. If you've inquired and haven't put down your retainer - reach out quickly before those spots are gone!

So, Noah and I did a thing last night. I needed to get back in the swing of that camera and we needed to do his 13 year portraits (almost 6 months late..oops).

This was his idea and the jacket was a serendipitous find while back to school shopping hours before. He wanted the shot to be busking on a corner, I wasn't so sure One Loudoun would be pleased with a 13 year busker so we compromised and played on the top of the parking deck.

It only took 10 min for security to make a drive by.

More to come! I have one more round of back to school shopping today with Lia and then can sit and edit the rest of these.

I can't believe we're back to that time of year! School starts next week and before you know it, we'll be to fall family photo season!

With two in sports this fall, times are going to be limited. I have Monday night mini's through October at Quail Ridge lake, Mini's at Claude Moore and Mini's at Oatlands in addition to a few full portrait session spots.

It was a spring of seniors! I did the family photos for this beautiful lady and her momma asked if I would do her senior photos. We were sneaking it in under the wire just a few weeks before graduation but it was perfect!

Last Day In Chincoteague

I'm working backwards through our family photos from this past trip to the beach. This day was spent on a small island in the middle of the bay. There were so many cool things to find including a few very photogenic hermit crabs!
