If you’ve been here for a while, you know I’ve been building a client location guide over the past few months — one of the ways I try to make your session experience as easy and stress-free as possible 🤍

I spend a lot of time scouting locations and gathering all the important details: the best lighting, parking, bathrooms, how crowded it gets, and whether it photographs beautifully on both sunny and cloudy days. A lot of this only comes from trial and error (shoutout to my location testers 🤍), but it’s been so worth it.

I’ve found so many stunning locations for families, but now I need your help! These photos are from a session I photographed in NJ two years ago, and I’ve been searching for a similar lake location here in Northern Virginia/DC — specifically one with a soft sandy shoreline.
