A major severe weather outbreak is expected across parts of the Northern and Central Plains today and tonight, with dangerous thunderstorms capable of producing:
๐ช๏ธ Tornadoes, some potentially strong
๐ง Large to very large hail
๐จ Damaging winds of 60-80+ mph
โก Intense supercells and possible overnight storm complexes
Today's highest risk extends across portions of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and surrounding areas as a powerful storm system moves into the Plains.
Storms are expected to develop this afternoon and rapidly intensify. Initially, discrete supercells may produce very large hail and tornadoes before evolving into larger storm clusters capable of widespread damaging winds.
