Dear Friend of KNBA, After months of threats and efforts to discredit public broadcasting, Congress has voted to abruptly defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. For KNBA 90.3, this means the loss of $300,000 in annual funding this year.
This is a devastating blow to our Native-operated nonprofit media service, including local news, locally-curated music, local voices, exceptional creativity and culture, and worthwhile community connections.
Many community members have stepped up to donate in the last two weeks and we are truly grateful for this heartening show of support. Unfortunately, we are still far from making up for the loss of CPB funding this year.
I’m asking for your help.
