Some sessions stay with you.
Today, I had the privilege of photographing a baby who was waited for, prayed for, hoped for, and loved long before he ever entered this world. After 17 years of waiting to become parents, Ram is finally here. š¤
And I donāt know that I can adequately describe the amount of love that filled my studio today.
There was no watching the clock. No rushing through the next photograph. His daddy changed diapers, made bottles, soothed him, held him, and looked at his son with the kind of pride that makes you stop and notice. His mama absolutely glowed. His godparents doted on him. And even three hours into our session, it still felt as though every person in the room considered simply being there with him an honor.
Maybe thatās what struck me most.
When youāve waited so long for someone, even the ordinary things donāt feel ordinary. A bottle isnāt just a bottle. A diaper change isnāt an interruption. Holding a sleeping baby isnāt something to hurry through. Itās the life you waited 17 years to live.
Sweet Ram, you have no idea yet just how incredibly loved you are.
I came home from this session so excited about these photographs that I couldnāt even wait to begin editing them ā these are straight from my camera, without a single edit, and I already love them so much. And now, as I sit here with my own family and think back on today, I just feel incredibly grateful that, for a few hours, I got to witness a tiny piece of this familyās story.
What an honor it was to photograph something so long awaited. š¤
