Back to the Midwest ✨

Joclyn Rae Photography is officially moving to Ames, Iowa, and I’m so excited to begin this new chapter back in the Midwest. This transition happened quickly (college football life!), but it already feels incredibly full-circle. I grew up in South Dakota, so returning to this part of the country feels familiar, grounding, and inspiring all at once.

Even though I’ve only lived in Pullman for a short time, it’s still bittersweet to leave. In less than a year, I’ve had the chance to photograph amazing people, capture beautiful stories, and grow my business in ways I didn’t expect. I’m so grateful for every session, every connection, and every client who trusted me so quickly in a brand-new place. Your support has meant more than you know.

As for what’s ahead… I’m inspired. The Midwest feels like home in every way, and I can already picture the sessions in Ames + Des Moines and beyond — golden fields, small-town charm, college-town energy, sunsets that stretch for miles, and a creative spark that comes from being in a place that feels authentic to who I am. I’m excited to connect with new & past clients across Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, and the surrounding region. I’m ready to take on new clients as soon as possible and can’t wait to start capturing stories.

Thank you for supporting me through every season and every state line. Here’s to new beginnings in Ames, to Midwest sunsets, to the people who make this journey meaningful, and to all the stories waiting to be told in this next chapter.
