I'm so used to documenting intimacy that’s been built slowly over time through rhythm, trust, and comfort.

Relationships that are layered with softness, rupture, repair, resistance, and ease.

What was intriguing about photographing strangers was witnessing how quickly human connection begins to unfold when people are given space to exist together.

Human connection is innate, sometimes just waiting for the right people, places, and opportunities to emerge.

The thing about wedding days is that people are just so beautifully themselves. The nerves, the joy, the weird in-between moments where nobody’s performing for anyone.

That's what I’m always chasing.

I’m not there to manufacture anything. I’m there to notice, stay close, and make people feel comfortable enough to forget I’m in the room.

But what keeps me coming back is how much trust is involved. Someone hands you their entire day. Possibly the biggest, most emotional, and perhaps one of the most chaotic days of their life, and says 'go'.

And my job is to be in it with them. Feel the room, follow the light, find the moments that are already happening and anticipate what may.

I love that. I love getting to be a small, quiet part of something that means everything to someone else. When it works, the gallery doesn’t feel like a collection of photos. It feels like the actual day.

There’s something grounding about the shift that happens during engagement sessions.

At first, it’s a little:
“What do we do with our hands?”

Couples laughing at themselves.
(A gentle reminder not to take it all too seriously.)

And then, somewhere along the way, they attune to each other and the environment, reorienting naturally.

That’s usually when the photos start feeling honest.

The couples I photograph aren’t trying to look perfect.
They just want photos that feel like them.

When you trust the process, it ends up feeling a lot simpler than expected.

If you’re newly engaged and feeling a little unsure about photos, this is a pretty perfect place to start.
