Have Camera, Will Travel

Have Camera, Will Travel Forty years of experience with portraits, natural and studio lighting, weddings, family reunions, pets, events.... we have done them all.

We can bring our portable photography studio to your site and furnish you with images that will make you smile. Photography has been my passion and hobby since the 1967 and I have been doing free lance photography since 1975. I studied with a master photographer while in the Army and took many lessons from my neighbor who was a professional Military photographer. I do not make my living as a photo

grapher but am able to get professional results at a reasonable price. I have un-intentionally up-set a few pros that believe that I am under cutting their prices. I just want to say to all photographers, professional or not, your art is worth what others are willing to pay. My philosophy is that photographic services should be affordable for all. I want my work to be seen by as many as possible and I believe if the majority can afford me, I'll get more work. I will also teach simple to advanced techniques to any willing student that wants to improve their work as well. So help me spread my work and I'll help you keep some of your money.

I haven't posted much lately. My time has been consumed with recovering from injuries and I hope that I will recover from surgery to be available once again. Wish me luck!

An Excellent article on the use of contrast and enhancement of photographs.
"Time and again I see photographers make the rookie mistake of over-processing the elements of contrast and color. All too often, photographers rely solely on the auto correct feature of editing software, to very unnatural results.
Many a photograph is ruined with too high contrast and too much color saturation........Please read the rest.. if you take pictures or buy them. A need to know for everyone!

Digital Artist or Photographer? Which are you? When I started free lancing as a photographer in 1973 photography was still film based. After taking photos a photographer would then either have the film developed or develop the film themselves. The darkroom has now been replaced with the computer program known as "Photo shop". With the advent of new modern automatic digital cameras it became possible for even children to take good photographs! Old school photography required a basic knowledge of film type and exposure control to achieve the results you were hoping for. With practice a good photographer was able to "capture" the moment that they envisioned. Today with photo shop and a modern DSLR one has the ability to "create" the moment instead of capturing it. Many combine these skills and create art from their photos, becoming digital art.

Photographers can be found everywhere these days. New cameras allow the novice to get decent results. Friends and family usually pat these budding "photographers" on the back exclaiming how good their photos turned out. This encourages many to seek out a career in photography. Some choose to educate themselves, others choose to attend college to sharpen their knowledge. Another category of novice is those that acquired their camera kit with a lens or two, do not seek education and are content with their present skill set and even have the audacity to call them selves "professional". Which are you? In my opinion, a professional photographer is one who makes their entire living doing photography only. They are able to make a living, pay all the bills and maybe even save some money, all from doing one thing, photography.

I am not a professional photographer as I only do this part time and do not rely on this income for anything else but to support my passion for photography.

This is a very good article, I recommend all photographers read it. I have been saying this very thing for years. I really like the last paragraph "Go forth and brush up your skills in both areas. Learn how to control your images with your camera, then learn how to fine tune it with software available. Remember, camera sensors are great but they’re not perfect. Post-processing can turn a good photo into a great photo! It could also turn a good photo into a bad one." http://www.goldfries.com/photography/beginner-photography-straight-out-of-camera/

The term "Straight Out of Camera" is often being used in the photography community but it's also a subject of debate, something that's totally uncalled for. :) Let's explore this term and understand better what it actually means. Isn't it clear enough? Yes it is - it means exactly what you
