Yesterday was a pretty surreal moment for me. Almost a year ago my friends and asked me to contribute my photography to their first book and with a major publisher. Yesterday I got to hold a physical copy of their book and see the images we created together in physical form and it was an incredible feeling to say the least. Ryan and Regina have always been incredibly supportive friends, always pushed me to be my best and believed in me they’re more than friends they’re my family . I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to be apart of such a meaningful work for them!

The door shown in this photograph is said to have come from Salem, Massachusetts, and dates back to before the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. This means the door most likely belonged to one of the women who had been accused of practicing witchcraft. The carving was meant to mark the house and warn passersby: A witch lives here! Its rumored that the house was burned down shortly after the door was marked. The door was saved and stored for centuries and purchased in the 1960s by an antiques dealer who specialized in primitive antiques.

Someone had defaced/carved the door by carving an image of a strange-looking woman. Above the figure, the words “OLD JEF” had been carved, which was an Old English term for the devil.

This carving had been made as a warning to others:
