I had a ball with this little one! 🎈 We bounced balloons, crawled around, watched a thunderstorm, and smashed a cake during her milestone first year cake smash session. 🍰 As I told her mama, she's the first one year old who ever picked up her ENTIRE cake to take a bite!

Here's a special treat for your Monday: this handsome little man! 🩵 I had the honor of capturing images for this family for their pregnancy announcement for this bundle of joy, and then helping mama feel beautiful in their last few weeks as a family of 3 before adding another little boy the the crowd. This newborn session brought it full circle, all blue and bowtie 💙, complete with some of big brother and the whole family! Thank you for letting me in to your special moments!

If you aren't having fun at your photo session, you're not doing it the right way! I adore finding the goofy smiles, pulling laughter out, and seeing genuine happiness in my families' faces as I photograph and retouch their images. These were no different - a family with miles between them (and an ocean!), working with two languages, and two squirrelly sets of twins. All in all, this extended family session at Lake Fairfax Park was overflowing with giggles and smiles!

Last weekend, I had a handful of sessions that started with this precious 17 day old nugget! 🩵 With some planning and some cozy wraps, Baby R slept through his entire session. We worked in all kinds of snuggles and some special pieces and poses to match big brother's newborn photos, and I just can't get over that full head of hair 😍!

Sometimes, simple is best. My friend Hannah is due with her very first (a baby boy!)🩵, and I had the lovely honor of attending her baby shower and slipping in a few maternity photos at the end 📷. We used the walls of the community room and the beautiful natural light of the drizzly day 💦, and then snagged a few more outside once the rain had passed. I love the colors and light that allow their faces to be the focus of these images. Can't wait for you to join the club!

May was a month of returning families! I've been anticipating a few sessions since the holiday season with some then-pregnant mamas, and this one reached out for a maternity session just in time. With these gorgeous neutral accents to her light mint dress, this mama opted for a backyard session that was no-fuss, at home, and a breeze. Look how glowing they all are - ready for the littlest brother to join them!

For Nico's last day of being 3, this returning family took a walk with me to capture some special (and silly) moments as their middlest celebrates another birthday! We spent a short mini session on the paths behind Clyde's Willow Creek Farm with laughter, hugs, and so many rocks (they are little boys, through and through). I love how this session captured all the personalities and interactions of the whole family!

Another of my sessions from working with last month, this mother and son captured my heart. Alistair was such a gentleman, even though he definitely didn't want to be taking pictures. He said little, but when the camera went up, his smile came out! I hope these photos are part of special memories for this mama, and that they capture the love her little boy has for her!

It was so much fun working with Taylor for her senior photos! I met her family this past fall for their Christmas photos and was delighted to hear that they wanted to work with me again for her special session. We had a beautiful overcast day at Morven Park that only enhanced the beauty of this graduate. Congratulations, Taylor!

🩵 I have fallen in love with this little boy! He was so sweet and calm for his entire newborn photo session 🩵. We spent time together for this in-home session, complete with some nursery photos where his big brother had his own newborn photos taken when he was born! Taking the same poses for some precious side-by-side memories is so heartwarming! I truly enjoyed working with this family - warm, kind, and so in love with their newest addition! 💕 Congratulations!

🎂 💗 For this blue-eyed toddler, one is too much fun! Some big toothy grins came along with her cake smash photos (though big brother had to convince her to try it). We set up an in-home session with a simple, clean feel - white background with pale pastel outfits. The family was so precious, doting on the birthday girl, little hugs and gestures of tenderness. 📷 We wrapped up with some photos on the back porch - the recent rain bringing all the bright greens to light. Happy birthday, sweet girl!
