I adore print projects, theres something about seeing your photos in print that really make them feel finished, and sequencing them into a conceptual project is so fulfilling. Last year I made a coffee table book, and I love it, but it was so expensive, I wanted to do something way more affordable. Introducing my zine: fade to black, printed through blurb and sold for 24 dollars. It's a 15 photo journey through black and white avian photography following strict conceptual rules. Fade to Black is a 15-image black-and-white zine in the spirit of punk and indie self-publishing, built on two rules that compress it: the walls close in, the light fades to black. Given that it's me, of course it's birds. The form is deliberate. The framework is rigid. The meaning belongs entirely....
