The good thing about getting bored or overwhelmed in Colorado is that I can literally just pack my stuff and go somewhere that makes me feel small again. 🥹🏔️
Sunday I was reorganizing our garage and after hours of looking at boxes and stuff everywhere, I was DONE. 😂 So that night I packed a few things, drove to the mountains, found somewhere to sleep in my car for a few hours, and set my alarm for an ungodly hour Monday morning.
Woke up, grabbed my pack, and started hiking in the dark.
First stop was Emerald Lake for sunrise, and OMG… probably one of the best sunrises I’ve seen in a while. 🌄🥹 I stayed there for a bit just watching the mountains light up before continuing on to explore a few places that had been on my bucket list for years.
By the end of the day, I had hiked about 15 miles and my legs were DONE, but it was absolutely worth it. 😂 And the best part? Once I got farther away from the popular trails, I only saw THREE other people.
Whenever someone tells me RMNP is overrated because it’s too crowded, I’m like… you just don’t know where to go. 😂 There are still so many places in that park where you can find solitude. You might just have to hike a little farther and wake up a little earlier.
Even Emerald was peaceful when I got there. Early birds get dibs. 😂✌️
Anywayyyy… apparently one adventure wasn’t enough because I’m already ready for another one this weekend. 😂 This time I’m heading somewhere new up north, and I seriously cannot wait to explore that area.
What about you guys? Where are you adventuring this weekend? 👀🏔️🥾
Happy Friday Eve! 😉
