As summer winds down and a new season begins, I'm looking forward to spending more time on the sidelines, capturing the moments that make football special.

- Captured these photos last season at the East Texas Turkey Bowl. Making it my first Tournament, and first as the photographer for two teams in a tournement. Two day tournaments mean 2 days of driving, shooting, editing, and finding time for breaks in between the chaos. Great experience, very fortunate for the Athens youth league, and Malakoff to trust me with this job.

A look back at my first year learning and shooting sports photography. 📸

A year ago, I was still figuring out my camera, learning how to chase the light, fighting high ISO, missing shots, over-editing, and questioning whether I was actually good enough to call myself a sports photographer.

Fast forward to now…

I’ve shot football, basketball, baseball, softball, cheer, youth sports, playoff runs, big moments, small moments, wins, losses, celebrations, heartbreak, and everything in between.

Every game taught me something. Every shoot made me better. Every mistake became part of the process.

I’m still learning. I’m still growing. And I’m nowhere near where I want to be.

But looking back at where I started compared to where I am now…

I’m proud of the work.

Year one was about learning how to shoot.

Year two is about learning how far I can take it.
