The lotus flower meaning varies throughout cultures. For myself, it's symbolic of rising out of darkness and transmuting ones struggles into strength, resilience, and wisdom. Lotus flowers grow directly out of muddy water only to emerge unscathed by the elements around it. Each day it blooms with remarkable beauty and returns to the murky depths upon sunset. That is the Glowing Lotus. ✨⚖️

I started seriously shooting photography in 2019. Prior to that, I'd owned many cameras throughout the years. I wanted to be good, but was convinced I didn't have the talent. I carried that mindset to other areas of life until I had the realization that I could learn to be great at whatever I wanted. I had a preconceived notion that anyone who was talented at anything was born with those skills. Now, although that may be true for some, I've found that most have studied and applied themselves in order to reach certain levels of achievement. That awareness has greatly shifted my mentality. It has aided me in freeing myself from a lot of the guilt and shame I built up over the years.

I hope If you're struggling the same way I did that you see this and it helps you discern between the real and imagined. It's hard work, but you have to rewired the harmful mindsets that hold you back. You have the power to live up to the greatest potential inside of you. 🫶✨
