DaVinci’s been going through a gnarly episode of IVDD, and yesterday we almost lost the fight. A couple days ago, he woke up paralyzed from the waist down and lost his ability to use the restroom on his own. Today, we woke up with a heavy heart and went in to possibly get him euthanized. To our surprise, he was showing some signs of strength that he wasn’t showing yesterday, so the amazing vet team at Belle Isle decided to give him another chance. He’s on medication and strict crate rest for the weekend to see if he’s able to regain his ability to use the bathroom on his own.

The road ahead isn’t very clear, and we’re taking it day by day. He’s been with me through it all and I’m so grateful to have even one more day with him! 🩵✨🐶

Plot twist: My van is wrecked! 🫠

I was really hoping I wouldn’t be posting this, but here we are…

Long story short: On October 28th I went to an event and a reckless driver crashed into my van while it was parked; totaling it and wrecking everything I’ve worked hard for in the last 3 years. I moved into this van in August 2023, and I was only a couple months away from going on the cross-country road trip of my wildest dreams.

Since the wreck, I’ve been hoping for the best and keeping myself grounded in gratitude. Knowing that my Twilight is gone has been hard, to say the least, but I am so grateful that I am safe and taken care of. I’m grateful I was still at the event when it happened, and my pets weren’t in the van either. I’m grateful I have such an amazing support system.

This van gave me the courage I needed to keep going and opened me up to best years I’ve had so far. This isn’t the end; it’s just a new beginning filled with endless possibilities.

I guess I just wanna say thank you for bearing with me. I’m so infinitely grateful to the ones that are still here after it all. I can’t imagine where I’d be without the support I’ve gotten. To be able to make art full time is a blessing I don’t take for granted!
