This all started so innocently. I was testing some idea with Midjurney's incredible latest model, V8.1. A frustration I have had with older models was trying to do a clown. Most of them, no matter how I prompted, ended up looking a lot like the modern version of Pennywise from It. I would have been happier if it had been Tim Curry's Pennywise, but no, It/clowns had become about the Bill Skarsgård makeup.
I decided to give V8.1 a go. My first results were great, Sweet, cheerful, so I was encouraged. I went on to start testing sref codes and various mood boards along with various personalizations. The first images are from that batch. They started to shift a bit as I changed settings. The top hat clown is an example, a subtle switch, but not disturbing. Then came image 4 out of the blue... Ok, we are going a bit dark now... Adding the clown car definitely changed things. Image 5 had some definite deranged-looking clowns, so I decided to go for it, and the rest is history, as they say. I took it full on dark art, ghosts, goth influence, the whole deal... It is my chaotic nature in full force here.
At this point, I abandoned the clowns and asked for "A dance macabre, a pas de deux of spirits on the stage of life" along with some personalizations, and I ran the stylization up to 650. The last of them is my favorite from that set.

The story makes me think of the Walter character, to be honest. Jeff Dunham's old grumpy man.
