New series coming soon featuring views of Lake Michigan.

Found quilted fabric combined with handmade papers and leftover threads create grassy sand dunes.

Silk textiles combined with photographs of the lake printed on metallic archival papers, create a sea of shimmering blues and greens.

Handmade papers dyed with Indigo create textured soft blue skies.

Original handmade collages. Coming soon.

Q: Why do you use handmade papers, natural dyes, and textiles?

A: When organic waste (food, paper, textiles, plant waste) is buried in landfills and deprived of oxygen, it produces methane gas.

Q: What’s wrong with methane gas?

A: Over a 20-year timeframe, methane’s global warming potential is 80–87 times greater than
carbon dioxide.

In ZION National Park we hiked the Narrows, walking through water in-between towering cream, pink, and red sandstone walls. I loved the way the walls looked against the blue sky. This photographic composite explores the towering walls against blue skies. It was created by compositing bits and pieces of photographs featuring dumpster walls.

Emerald Pools was another favorite hike, depicted in this collage created using papers and fabrics dyed with spinach, black beans, avocados, and rose petals. I loved the purplish hues of the rocks against the green leaves, and the reflection captured in the water.

Both pieces are available .

Over the last few weeks I have been lucky enough to visit White Sands NP, Abiquiu, New Mexico, Bandelier NM, and Yosemite NP.

Absolutely stunning and breathtaking landscapes - and all so different and unique in their own way.

White sand dunes against pastel sunsets. Pink textured hills and ochre rock formations set against Santa Fe’s blue sky. Spring in Yosemite is marked by powerful waterfalls, rich greens, and rainbows set against monster rock formations.

So many inspiring colors and textures, I can’t wait to get back in the studio.

I couldn’t resist, I had to dive into the blues after finishing the larger dunes piece yesterday.

In the midst of AI, phones, etc. - I have found it deeply cathartic making paper out of scraps. Getting my hands dirty with dye and glue; creating something one-of-a-kind.

I love playing with different textures, using them to represent different aspects of the landscape I’m creating. From shiny fabric for the water to handmade papers dyed in indigo for the sky.

Each piece is uniquely perfect because of its slight imperfections. A stray thread, a white paper pulp amidst the blue, dye unevenly distributed - it all makes each piece that much more unique and special, and impossible to replicate.

Created by hand, inspired by nature.

I’ve spent them last few weeks making handmade paper and I couldn’t be happier with the results. ✨

☕️grounds in the handmade paper are going to be great for added texture to rocks

Madder Root produced some great oranges for slot canyons and the pinks will be great for sunrises and the Badlands.

Indigo. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. I 💙 blue.

Indigo + Osage created a lovely pale blue, perfect for cloudy skies ☁️

Cochineal is a fascinating dye extracted from bugs, amazing 💕

🥀 rose petals made an amazing dye for fabric and papers, not so amazing for handmade papers

🥑 definitely need to eat more guacamole because the pale shades of peaches and purples extracted from the pits and skins of avocados are perfect for the Badlands and Death Valley

Logwood produced an amazing purple-blue-grey, what’s not to love!

🍵matcha greens pair perfectly with sandy shores and blue water

Three dumpsters photographed in the Visitors Center parking lot in Death Valley in 2019 prompted me to create landscapes celebrating our National Parks. The textures and colors of the dumpsters seemed to mimic the surrounding landscape…and the rest is history.

Inspired by soft purple hues and richly textured surfaces, these works capture some of the amazing colors, textures, and landscapes found in Death Valley National Park. This park absolutely needs its own collection, I haven’t even begun to scratch the surface.

Mixed media collages: created using materials treated with dyes extracted from organic material including black beans, red cabbage, tea, coffee, and rose petals combined with pieces of my original photographs. One of a kind original pieces.

Digitally composited photographs: created by layering images of textures found on the walls of dumpsters combined with pieces of my original photographs. Limited edition archival digital prints available in several sizes.

Work available . Also available for commissions inspired by Death Valley other National Parks.

1. Marbled Canyon, mixed media collage
2. Purple Rocks, mixed media collage
3. Artist Palette, mixed media collage
4. Badwater Basin, photographic composite
5. Visitors Center parking lot, Death Valley NP

✨ Two Views of Cumberland Island ✨

On the left: a photographic composite, digitally created using layers of images featuring dumpster walls. Painterly, textured, and seamless, it carries within it the imprint of human consumption and waste.

On the right: my traditional collage of Cumberland Island’s the windswept sand dunes, crafted with organically dyed fabrics, handmade papers, and photographic fragments.

Both pieces celebrate the fragile beauty of this treasured place while reminding us of the traces of human consumption that linger in every corner of our environment.

Which version speaks to you more—the tactile layers of collage or the photographic print seamless digital composite?

This summer was one of prepping for big transitions for our family: our oldest is headed off to college across the country, our middle is working on college applications (bad planning on our part), and our youngest is busy with high school sports and school.

With so many meaningful milestones, I took a step back from the studio for a time. Now, as life begins to find its new rhythm (sort-of), I’m excited to return to my creative practice and look forward to sharing new work in the months ahead.
