Yesterday’s the Swan House wedding was one we had looked forward to for a long time, and getting to watch these two finally experience it all was so special.

A few little moments from a day that was joyful, colorful, emotional, and so completely theirs.

Despite melting in the heat, Anna & Brenton soaked in every second.

The forecast said thunder.

Instead, Genevieve & Hudson spent their wedding day running around Jekyll Island Club, laughing, dancing, and soaking in every second. 🤍

Their welcome party the night before brought rain, thunder, and even a few power outages. By Saturday morning, they’d made the last-minute call to move the ceremony beneath a sailcloth tent.

And then the sun just… stayed.

A little breeze off the water. Spanish moss moving overhead. Light spilling across Crane Cottage.

And Genevieve?

She couldn’t stop running.

Not because she was trying to get anywhere. She was just too happy to walk.

She’d take off laughing, completely caught up in the moment, surrounded by her girls and the people she loves most.

Then Hudson’s turn came.

He was literally shaking while waiting to see her.

When he finally turned around, the tears came, the words disappeared, and there was this huge, unmistakable smile on his face.

And then Biggs came sprinting toward them.

First look. Private vows. Their pup. Their people.

It was all so unmistakably theirs.

We’ve photographed this friend group through so many weddings now, and there’s something really special about watching them show up for one another again and again. They’re the kind of people who feel less like a group of friends and more like family.

So the rest of the day felt exactly as it should.

A packed dance floor. Live horns and guitars. Laughter everywhere. And two people who never seemed to stop smiling.

Genevieve & Hudson didn’t spend their wedding day worrying about whether everything was going according to plan.

They were too busy living it.

And maybe that’s what we’ll remember most.

Not just how beautiful the day was, but how alive it felt.

How freely they loved.
How loudly their people celebrated.
How often they laughed.

A pretty perfect way to begin forever. 🤍

There are details you remember because they were beautiful.

And then there are the details that become part of the story.

Hannah’s red soles beneath her dress. The timeless elegance of her gown designed by Pnina Tornai for Kleinfeld Bridal. The quiet beauty of The Conservatory surrounding them.

But what made these details matter was everything they represented: a day Hannah and Nick had waited for, surrounded by the people who had traveled near and far to stand beside them.

Their wedding was elegant, yes. But more than anything, it was deeply meaningful. A sacred ceremony. Families becoming one. Lifelong friends filling the room with laughter. And two people who have spent years building a life together finally pausing long enough to take it all in.

The beauty was in the details.
The meaning was in the people.

Some weddings demand your attention.

Others simply invite you in.

Long before guests took their seats and music filled the mountaintop, there were already stories waiting to be told.

The invitation that welcomed everyone in with a watercolor painting of Mclemore’s iconic 18th hole.
The rings they’d wear for a lifetime.
The vows they’d soon read on the cliffside with drizzles of rain.

The little pieces that, on their own, may seem ordinary but add up to tell a story of two people’s lives coming together in front of their cherished friends & family.

Because the most beautiful weddings aren’t built around perfect details.

Mr. & Mrs. Westmoreland ✨🥂

Three years of airports, countdowns, phone calls, deployments, and sprinkle in some long distance.

Yesterday, it all led here.

Erin and Jonathan promised forever at Blackberry Ridge, surrounded by the people who had prayed for them, cheered them on, and carried them through every mile apart. There were tears before the ceremony even began. The kind that comes when a moment you’ve waited years for is finally here.

What we loved most about this day wasn’t the details, though every one was beautiful. It was the way these two held onto every moment. The quiet anticipation while getting ready. The emotion in their first look and vows (🥹). The joy that spilled out onto the dance floor. The understanding that this wasn’t just a wedding day, it was the beginning of their next adventure together.

In just a few short weeks, they’ll be packing up and heading to Alaska for Jonathan’s next station. But before the move, before the new home, before the next chapter, there was this day.

A day full of happy tears, grateful hearts, and a whole lot of love.

Most weekends, you’ll find us standing quietly on the edge of a moment.

I spend most of my life behind a camera, so being in front of one still feels a little strange.

But after more than a decade of capturing weddings together with Haley and our team, we’ve realized what this work is all about.

It’s about people.

The stories they’ll tell years from now. The way a single image can bring you back to a feeling you thought you’d forgotten.

That’s what Haley and I have spent the last decade chasing.

Not perfect poses. Not trends.

Just the kind of moments that become part of a family’s history.

Some wedding days feel less like an event and more like a gathering of everyone who helped write the story.

Brae & Ellie were married by Brae’s grandfather (Pap) at the church he faithfully served for years, a moment made even sweeter by the generations of love surrounding them. From there, family and friends from all stages of life filled Dunwoody Country Club with the kind of joy that can’t be manufactured.

From a so many speeches highlighting what makes these two so special at the rehearsal dinner to sweet surprises from their families throughout the night that paid homage to their story, nods to how they met, cake details that matched Ellie’s dress, and even a custom flag waiting for them at hole 18, we had a front row seat to watching their people show up for them.

The result was a celebration that felt deeply personal, effortlessly joyful, and centered on what mattered most: being together.

Brae & Ellie, thank you for inviting us into such a meaningful day. It was a privilege to witness and document the beginning of this next chapter. 💛

Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Payton ✨

Yesterday, Helen and Jackson gathered everyone they love atop the mountains at for a wedding that felt equal parts elegant, joyful, and deeply personal.

The rain lingered throughout the morning, but just before the ceremony, the clouds opened to reveal the mountain views Cloudland is known for. Perfect timing.

What stood out most, though, wasn’t the scenery. It was the people.

From childhood & college friends to coworkers they enjoy seeing outside of 9-5, every corner of the room was filled with people who have walked alongside Helen and Jackson through different seasons of life.

Looking around, it was impossible not to notice how intentionally these two have invested in the people around them. Their wedding wasn’t just a celebration of their marriage. It was a reflection of the community they’ve spent years building together.

Helen & Jackson, thank you for trusting us to tell your story. What an honor it was to celebrate alongside you both. 💛
