One of the greatest privileges of being a sports photographer is getting a front-row seat to these moments.
I appreciate how hard these athletes have worked to get where they are. They took something they loved as kids and turned it into a career. Every time I step onto the field, I see passion, determination, and pure joy. It's a reminder that, at its core, this game is still about love.
Watching these players also takes me back to the guys from high school. Their paths all looked different. Some played travel ball and high school ball, some played in college, one made it to the big leagues (Charlie aka Chuck 😉), and others still lace up their cleats for men's softball. Their journeys may not have ended in the same place, but the game has remained a part of who they are.
As a baseball mom, that gives me hope. I hope my own son's love for this game stays with him wherever life takes him. Whether baseball leads him to college, a career, weekend leagues, or simply lifelong friendships, I hope it always brings him the same joy I see in the athletes standing in front of my camera.
Because sometimes, the greatest victory isn't where the game takes you—it's that you never lose your love for it. ⚾❤️
