I made a recent trip to New Mexico. This image was taken on the High Road to Taos. The road goes through a series of small pueblos and towns - most with historic missions, churches or cemeteries that date to the 1700's. The trick is trying to find an interesting angle or perspective.
This church is a good example. From the front, there were powerlines obstructing the view. But from the rear, it had an intimate view of a small graveyard on the church property. It has a number of nice angles, the isolation of the gravestones, good color, and the snow covered ground. The lines and the shadows are all part of the composition. The small bush is in the sun, and highlighted against the shadow in the background.
This was shot with the Nikon Z8 and the Nikon Z 24-70 f/2.8 lens.
