It rained all morning and we wondered whether the ceremony would have to be moved inside. But the clouds broke and the weather cleared. And it was just perfect. Davis Islands Garden Club

As far back as I can remember, I've always had a tendency to work myself ragged. Whether it be art projects in high school, or wedding photography today. Something inside me says, keep running, keep moving, go, go, go. But through all my manic energy Ada is a plum line of reason, always urging me to rest, take space, read books, stare at the clouds, and dream. It's nice to know there's a voice of reason in my life, cause God knows I need her. She keeps me glued together. Photo:

Mid century house. Vintage furniture. Handmade art. And of course the perfect couple. Could this shoot have turned out any more perfect?

We found this beautiful mid-century house in East Nashville. The furniture looks like it came from a 1950’s sitcom, except more tasteful and modern. The house feels like a vinyl record. Warm, fuzzy, and comfortable.

I spent the afternoon editing photos from Nashville, strung out on coffee and protein shakes. I'm lost when Ada's not home to make me lunch. Married life has made me forget simple human skills. So I kept drinking coffee instead of eating. And too much coffee makes me fall asleep, so I alternated between jittery and dozing off. Weird. I know... Anyone else get coffee narcolepsy?

Back when I first met Ada, I remember thinking how beautiful she was. I was slightly obsessed, but I didn't really verbalize that, so I took pictures of her. Kind of a middle school move, eh? She had this natural beauty and a strange habit of hiding behind objects whenever I would raise my camera. Basketballs, trees, postcards, anything really. She didn't like having her photo taken, even though she always looked captivating. At one point, she looked me dead in the eye, and said, "I don't like it when you take my photo. Please stop." Did that stop me? Well... No. I've always been a bit hard headed and she was my muse. Not too long ago, we were talking at the kitchen table and she said, "Remember when you used to take my picture all the time? I miss that. It made me feel special." The truth is I still like taking her picture. And she still likes to hide from view. I guess we're just weird like that.

This sounds weird, but I always tell Ada that my goal in life is to make women cry. Not in a bad way, but I just like seeing people get all "all the feels" when they look over their wedding photos. Of course it's pretty great when a bride cries at her wedding too. Even better when the groom cries. Just sayin'

We woke to the sun, packed our bags and went out for breakfast in Nashville. Ada & I sat in an oversized booth, drinking coffee (of course) and talking about our favorite memories from this weekend. We saw , ate at , listened to country music (interesting), stayed at the coolest Airbnb and celebrated three years of marriage with life and gusto. Sometimes I get a little sad thinking about how quickly life flows past me. I wish I could just freeze time and cling to these moments a little longer. But I can't. So I relive these memories through stories, words, and images. It's like my feeble attempt to stop time. This was one of my favorite weekends ever. And I wish it lasted a little longer. But maybe there's beauty in the brevity of life. So thankful for the new friends we made Thank you and .lee_ for all your hard work. Thank you & Kellon for being amazing models.

Today is our three year anniversary. So we went to the Collegiate Grill and ordered greasy burgers, fries, and a single Coke that we sipped on together. After three years, I enjoy these little memories more than anything. Doing life with my favorite person and taking tiny adventures. We had one last Polaroid on my camera, so we decided to stand under the cherry blossoms and take this selfie so we'd always remember the moment. Some things in life are just meant to be together. It feels like forever ago when I asked Ada to marry me and we spoke “I do” in front of family and friends on windy morning in March. And every year of marriage has brought something new. First a house. Then a puppy. And now… Parenthood. This September. Photo: Someplace Wild
