As a new mom, I can confirm that “just tidy up the house before they come over” hits a little differently when you have a newborn. 😂🤍

So if the thought of having a photographer come into your home has you looking around at the laundry, baby gear, bottles, burp cloths and everything else that seems to multiply overnight... please don’t let that stop you.

I don’t need a picture-perfect house to create beautiful newborn photos. Give me some window light, a little space to work and your family loving on that sweet baby, and we’ll make some magic. We can move things out of the way as we go!

And honestly, I think there’s something extra special about documenting this season right where you’re living it. The nursery you prepared for them. The couch where you spend hours feeding and cuddling them. Big siblings running around being themselves. The little pieces of home that might feel ordinary now, but someday will be part of what you remember about those first weeks together!

Your home doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be yours. 🤍

Some of my favorite wedding photos are the ones nobody put on the shot list. 🤍 The reactions, the inside jokes, and your people completely being themselves and having a blast celebrating you!

Of course I'll photograph the things we planned for. The portraits will happen! But I'm also watching for everything happening around them.

Because those little moments are often the photos that bring you right back to what your wedding day actually felt like, or let you see parts of the day you may have missed while it was all happening in a blur. 🤍

The tiniest details change way too fast. 🤍

As a new mom, I have a front-row seat to it happening. I always knew it would go quickly, but somehow it still feels unbelievable and incredible at the same time.

I love newborn sessions that let me capture both the sweet portraits and all the tiny details and moments in between, especially those little fingers and sleepy cuddles. 🤍

Today is National Nonprofit Day 🤍

Nonprofit work has been a huge part of my life for years, and it has taken me to some pretty incredible places, including Uganda, where this photo was taken.

I’ve gotten to see firsthand the incredible work that small organizations can do when people believe in a mission and choose to come alongside it.

So when I realized National Nonprofit Day was falling just a few days after officially relaunching Cassidy Marie Photography, I absolutely couldn’t ignore the opportunity to use this little platform and passion of mine to give back! What a perfect way to bring two parts of my life together. 🤍
