That’s a wrap on Penrod! It was a good show despite the rain. 🌧️ Everyone was so nice- my family who helped me setup, my artist neighbors/new friends, the lovely patrons, all my sweet friends and collectors who stopped by the booth, and the Penrod volunteers. Maybe the slogan, “Indianas nicest day” is more about the kind, art-loving Hoosiers and less about the weather? I am glad the sun eventually came out, though! 💚 I wish I would have taken more pictures. If you’re interested in making your own acacia wood tray on October 24, DM me or email [email protected]. My next group show is the SALI National Avstract Show at the South Side Art League on October 3rd! 💗

We had a great group yesterday for an Ink class in Brownsburg! What an absolutely beautiful day. I’m so glad we could open up those doors and let the breeze in! It was so nice to paint together and see what beautiful creations everyone came up with! Special thanks to Anna Roberts and Anne Hathaway (no, not that Anne Hathaway!) lol 😆 Art is such a fun way to express yourself! ✨🌈🩷🎨

In love with this custom flower tray! Thank you Jennifer Guenin Coulter for trusting me with your flowers and asking me to create art with your bouquet. I learned a lot and I love how it turned out. I hope it reminds you of your special day every time you see it. 🩷

We had such a fun time at last night playing with inks during their Third Thursday event! I’m grateful for the opportunity to share the joy of alcohol inks with other color-loving humans. Thanks for coming out on a Thursday and for embracing this playful medium. It’s always so cool to see what everyone creates. 🎨 😊💗🌸✨🦋🌈 this was an extra special bunch bc we had 2 Ritter raiders in the group!!! Jennifer Guenin Coulter Celeste Ballou
I’ll be back at Create Art Studio on August 1st when we will make ✨coasters✨!! Thank you, Alissa and Chrissy for inviting me to teach, and thank you to Melissa (new best friend) for all of your help.

The HOPE Art Project Art Auction is this Friday, May 1st at Factory Arts District and it’s for a great cause! 💗

Excited and thankful to welcome back donor Susie Q Studio to our 4th Art Auction!

Susie Ardelean is an abstract mixed-media artist and lifetime Hoosier. She creates ethereal paintings using alcohol inks, isopropyl alcohol, acrylics, gold leaf, and crystals on Yupo, canvas, and wooden panels. Susie’s paintings are coated in UV-protective resin which adds depth and dimension to the pieces and gives each painting a glass-like finish. Some of her work is inspired by sacred geometry and quilt designs. “The art I create is a personal practice in mindfulness, a form of self-expression, and an ongoing experiment with color and ink. I share my artwork with the hope of bringing peace and inspiration to the viewer, as well as beauty into a space.” Susie’s painting, “Breakthrough” won the People’s Choice Award in the 2024 Hoosier Art Salon. She works out of her home studio in Avon, Indiana.

Art has been a therapeutic tool to help me work through and process feelings of grief, loss, and uncertainty. It has also helped me express joy, connection, and growth. Caring for my mental health is a priority for me. I do this by caring for myself as a whole person and tending to my needs through my art practice, physical movement, sobriety, spirituality, continued learning, supportive relationships, and service to others.

Thank you for sharing your work and your mental health experience with us.

See and fight me for, I mean bid on, Susie’s work at our auction!
