Galapagos – Last Trip Report

We woke up this morning to pouring rain. Which was alright, because we only had a couple of hours in San Cristobal with nothing planned, before heading to the airport. But it wasn’t as care free as it sounds. Transferring 15 people loaded down with camera gear (trying desperately to keep it dry), onto and off of zodiacs in the rolling waves was no easy job....

Galapagos Trip Log – Day 7 – San Cristobal Island

Did you know the Spotted Eagle Rays celebrate Valentine’s Day too? They made a brief appearance in our Galapagos edition of Frisky Business. You’ll have to use your imaginations on this one, I couldn’t make a good a photo, the most I managed was to capture a small spotted triangle peeking out of the water. I only found out a couple of days ago that we are there during mating season….I had no idea....

Galapagos Trip Log – Day 6 – Rabida Island

An American....American Flamingo in the Galapagos We spent the morning with the flamingos, and when I say morning, breakfast was at 5:00 AM, and we were loaded onto the zodiacs by 6:00 AM to get there nice and early (do you feel like you’ve already read this part at least 4 times….well, it’s because you have…every…single….morning……sigh). I am definitely not making this a permanent part of my routine when we get home....

Galapagos Trip Log – Day 5 – Genovesa Island

I hope you enjoyed your brief respite from bird antics, because today was all about birds and we witnessed a whole bunch of frisky business. The Pirate Birds’ preferred pickup spot. We sailed all night to arrive at Genovesa by 6:00 AM so we could be the second group up on the cliff to photograph the birds. This island doesn’t get its nickname, Bird Island, because there are only 100 birds hanging out....

Galapagos Trip Report – Day 3 – Española Island

Welcome to your first episode of Frisky Business - The Galapagos Edition. But first I need to catch you up. The bo***es are dancing! I am starting to formulate a hypothesis as to why Ecuadorian coffee is so amazing (as reported by Peter and friends). The ship crew is up all hours of the day and night getting us from one place to another, and more importantly feeding us at odd ours....

Galapagos Trip Log - Day 2 - Floreana Island
The Galapagos is a national park, and every single group/person that arrives to the archipelago must be accompanied by a naturalist assigned by the park. We were lucky to have Ibrehi. Working with one of our workshop leaders, Richard, they maneuvered the zodiac around to get the best possible light and background. To read more click the link in our bio site.

We had to work in one last thing before we boarded our flight today. We can’t leave Miami without exploring a grand mansion and gardens. Think Hearst Castle but with a tropical flair and a little b…
