First time breaking this beast out! 📸
The Pentacon Six is a medium format film camera. German made by Pentacon. It evolved from the Praktisix and during production from the 1960s into the early 1990s, became one of the more affordable ways to shoot professional-style medium format on 120 film.

So far, here’s my personal take on the camera system:

3 Pros:

Carl Zeiss Jena lens ✨ tough to beat really.
Gorgeous big durable solid metal body, it’s a tank!
The waist level view finder on this camera is a showstopper!

3 Cons:
Film advancing: this is the most notable issue with the series and I have experienced some finicky moments with advancing.

Focus through the prism, there can be a bit of a delay in focusing, especially since the lens has such a wide focal range.

Strap mounts. Maybe not a “con” but I find the placement of these strap mounts to be a bit precarious given how heavy the back of the body is compared to the lens. But with a heavier lens in sure this makes a bit more sense.

Overall though, I am completely stoked in this camera, I recently added this and it’s cousin the Pentacon Six TL to the collection so I am excited to run a roll through that one as well to see how the differences stack up.

But until then I just ran a roll of exp 2002 120 through this system at the beach, so stay tuned for those results!

Well, this is a heartbreaker 💔 Remembering Bill Hawkins

I have worked with a lot of small businesses throughout my career, but the opportunity to create with British Autoworks a few years ago holds a very special place in my heart. ♥️

Because it felt like a chance to finally say thanks and show just the smallest amount of appreciation for all that Bill did for me and my family throughout all of our lives. In more ways than not, Bill felt like a Grandfather to myself and so many others. He was kind, wise, generous, an endearing presence, and beyond all else Bill had a gift for brining people together. A gift that touched the lives of countless, with an impact that cannot be quantified.

He will be forever missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts of anyone and every who knew him. Rest easy #1 🕊️

So, for those that don’t know, over the past several years throughout my career as primarily a visual media producer I’ve been spending a lot of time in the background developing skills as a sound designer. And what began as making mostly lofi and ambient tracks to pair with videos, has rapidly evolved into producing electronic dance music, which I have mostly just been releasing sporadically on SoundCloud.

But today I’m STOKED to announce that I’m taking this to the next level and after signing on with LANDR you can now catch my music on Spotify, as well as all other major platforms!
