A Creative Photo by Nicole Averette Hi there! Thanks for being here! I'm a life long shutter bug, taking photos on my dad's 35MM Pentax camera since I was a kid.

Fun fact, my dad later gave me that same camera and renewed my love of film so don't be surprised when I whip out a 40 year old camera to snap some pics at your session! I love to capture people in beautiful places. Catching that perfect shot gets me so excited that I can barely wait to send your sneak peek and will usually start texting you screenshots before I've even seen all the photos! Photography has been a life-long love & I hope every client sees that in the images I deliver.

A little throwback to last November because this one still deserves a spot on the feed. 🖤

Editorial energy, direct flash, a little attitude, and a couple who understood the assignment.

I love a beautiful, softly lit portrait, but there's something about the bold contrast and unapologetic feel of direct flash photography that gets me every time.

Couples photography doesn't always have to be soft, romantic, and perfectly posed. Sometimes it can be a little moody, a little playful, and feel like it belongs in the pages of a magazine.

And I'm always here for that.

Motherhood. But make it iconic. ✨

Who says maternity photos have to be soft and traditional?

Ester brought the beauty, the confidence, and a little drama to her studio maternity session, and I was absolutely here for ALL of it.

There's something I love about creating maternity portraits that feel equal parts timeless, feminine, and editorial. Celebrating the beauty of pregnancy while letting a woman's personality shine through.

Because growing a whole human deserves more than just a few pretty pictures. It deserves art.

If you're looking for a Baton Rouge maternity photographer who loves a little creative studio lighting, bold portraits, and images that feel like YOU, I'd love to create something beautiful together.

THE MOTHERHOOD EDIT

From finding out who they were waiting for to finally holding her in their arms. 🤍

I've had the privilege of documenting so many beautiful chapters of Ester and Will's journey to becoming parents, and there's something incredibly special about seeing those moments come together as one story.

The excitement of their gender reveal. The anticipation of meeting Lola Star. A studio maternity session filled with everything from soft, romantic portraits to dramatic, editorial moments.

And then, one week earlier than expected, there she was.

Sweet Lola Star made her debut, and I joined her brand-new family at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge for a Fresh 48 newborn session.

The tiny details. The sleepy snuggles. Those first moments when everything is new and life has changed in the most beautiful way.

This is why I love documenting motherhood. Not just one milestone, but all the little chapters that make up the story.

From gender reveals and maternity photography to Fresh 48 newborn sessions, these are the moments worth remembering.

Welcome to the world, Lola Star. You've been loved from the very beginning. 🤍

The people. The process. The finished product.

There's something pretty special about watching a space come together, especially when you're documenting the people learning the craft behind it.

Back at Perla Wallpaper School, I had the opportunity to photograph students putting their new skills to work inside the beautiful Schoolhouse at historic Poplar Grove Plantation.

From the hands-on learning and little details to the finished wallpaper installations, every part of the experience had a story worth capturing.

And that's what I love about commercial branding photography. It's not just about the polished final images. It's about the people, the work, and everything that happens along the way.

A beautiful setting, talented people, and a whole lot of craftsmanship. I'd say that's a pretty good day behind the camera.

Sometimes the backup plan turns out to be the better story.

Aileen had envisioned sunflowers for her maternity session, but after this summer’s South Louisiana drought had other ideas, we moved to the rose garden at LSU Burden Gardens instead.

And considering the little girl they’re waiting to meet is named Maya Rose, I’d say we ended up exactly where we were supposed to be.

Soft morning light, blooming roses, Chase + Aileen soaking in these last weeks before becoming parents—and, of course, Stella making sure she was included in the family portraits before her promotion to big sister.
This is everything I love about maternity photography: beautiful portraits, yes, but also documenting what your family looks and feels like right before everything changes.

Maya Rose, you are already so very loved.

A little late getting these June headshots of Avery onto the feed, but they deserved their moment. 🖤

Headshots don’t have to mean stiff poses, gray backdrops and “corporate.” They can have personality. They can feel polished and editorial while still looking like you.

Avery made that part pretty easy.

We kept this set simple—a black backdrop, beautiful light, a killer outfit and a mix of clean color and timeless black + white portraits. The result feels modern, confident and just a little bit fashion-forward.

If your current headshot doesn’t feel like the person you are anymore, it might be time for a new one.

They're officially cover dogs. 🐶🐶

The August issue of Stroll Jefferson Place–Bocage is arriving in mailboxes, and I'm excited to finally share a peek behind this session with Sugar, Honey, and the Lemann family.

From backyard playtime to quiet moments on the couch, this gallery was all about capturing the love between a family and the dogs who are every bit a part of it.

These are the moments I'll always chase.

If you're in Jefferson Place or Bocage, check your mailbox—you may have already received this month's issue!

A rainy day in New Orleans turned into one of my favorite engagement sessions.

We wandered the quiet streets of the French Quarter, embraced the rain instead of running from it, then ended the day tucked inside a vintage Marigny Airbnb creating images that felt timeless, romantic, and completely authentic to them

Proof that the "perfect" weather isn't what makes a session unforgettable.

It's the people. It's the story. It's the way you choose to celebrate this season together.

If you're dreaming of an engagement session that's less about posing and more about creating memories, let's make it happen.
