Ciao! Here’s a little life update to explain my lack of social media presence this past year… I can’t believe that the last time I posted was in JULY 🙈 But I promise I have my reasons 😉🙃
My husband and I are expecting🤰… like SUPER soon! In the beginning/middle of my pregnancy we had a few minor complications and I stopped scheduling sessions or taking new clients. Nothing too scary, but a few things that put me at higher risk if I were to catch Covid and required a bit of rest.
To be more specific, at the very beginning I developed two subchorionic hemorrhages and was put on pelvic rest and a modified bed rest. It was stressful because I felt totally fine (besides the normal pregnancy stuff like nausea and major fatigue) and had zero symptoms, but wanted to play it safe per doctor’s orders. So running after kiddos during back to back fall sessions was a no-go. Once that resolved, I was told I had a low-lying placenta. It’s fairly common early on, but it felt like another hurdle. Then once my placenta moved up and everything was looking good, we had a super intense night where I was in severe pain… to the point that I paced around our living room for like 10 hours because it hurt too much to sit still or lay down. Eventually I woke my husband up and we headed to labor and delivery to get checked out. They found I was having contractions every 2 to 3 minutes (though I couldn’t feel them through the constant pain) and gave me a shot to slow them down and prevent the possibility of going into preterm labor at 28 weeks. My OB/GYN believes it was a kidney stone, but there’s no way to find out retrospectively 🤷♀️
Since then, things have been fairly smooth sailing and going as planned. I have all the aches and pains that come with any pregnancy, but currently no issues. Since my due date is coming up quick, I’m still not scheduling any new sessions and will be taking an indefinite maternity leave. This is *not* a plan to stop doing photography though — I have every intention to start back up sometime later this year! But I want to be transparent and let everyone know why I’ve been so MIA lately. I hope you had a wonderful start to 2022 and I can’t wait to catch up with all my clients and friends ❤️
P.S. If you need a photographer in the Beaumont area while I’m on maternity leave, Ana Leslie Photography is your gal! She took these amazing pictures and is my go to referral when I’m unavailable!
