People have asked about " the Field" and here are many different sessions from different parts of the fall.
One thing I always tell clients is that outfit colors can completely change the feel of your photos.
Here in Alabama, September sessions still have lots of vibrant green in the background. As we move through October and into November and December, those greens slowly fade into softer fall colors with more muted greens and browns. Because of that, your clothing choices can really help create the look you’re going for.
If you want your photos to have more of a fall feel, I always recommend sticking with neutral earth tones. Think sage or olive green, terracotta, rust, beige, cream, warm browns, and other earthy colors. These tones complement the changing landscape beautifully and create a timeless look.
If you're planning to use your photos for Christmas cards or want more of a Christmas vibe, richer colors like emerald green, burgundy, deep reds, and cream photograph beautifully.
Another thing I encourage clients to think about is where these photos will live. If you're planning to hang them in your home, consider the colors in your living room or the space where they'll be displayed. Choosing colors that complement your décor can make your photos feel like they truly belong in your home, instead of just being another picture on the wall.
And remember, you don't all have to match. Coordinating colors and textures almost always photographs better than everyone wearing the exact same thing.
Need help picking outfits? That's one of my favorite parts, and I'm always happy to help put together a color palette for your session!
