I’m so honored that this photograph, titled “Pausing Time”, was selected by international photography awards platform as Photo of the Day🤍

What a happy surprise! I came back from the gym and found this message from TPA.

I love this image so much. Two parents - pausing time - if you will - to share a kiss while their beautiful daughters run happy circles around them.

The tenderness, the joy, and the beautiful chaos of family life… this is why I do what I do. Photographs like this give my work so much meaning. Thank-YOU for trusting me with your memories 💫

This tiny biker gang - both terrifying and cute - is our neighborhood crew.

Last weekend I organized a little photoshoot with the kids in our neighborhood. I had this concept of a tiny biker gang photoshoot years ago after seeing these kids riding around our street on their bikes and scooters - all fearless and like they owned the place.🤪

Naturally, I had them pose looking as tough as they could.

This wasn’t my usual family portrait session, but still felt deeply meaningful and even bittersweet. This was a nod to all the childhood friendships that were formed here, the everyday sidewalk screams and chaos, and the small, everyday interactions that now suddenly hold a large space in our hearts.

This little street has been part of my children’s world now for nine years. And since we’re planning to move in a few months, this shoot felt especially bittersweet.💔

Though I’m so glad I finally captured them! My daughters are already asking for prints to hang up in their new rooms so they can remember their friends.

My one regret - not doing this sooner! 🤍📸

This is one of the top questions I get as an outdoor, family photographer: “It’s raining, should we reschedule?”

In my years photographing families in natural light, I’ve noticed that not only is drizzle just fine for photoshoots - but it actually creates the conditions for gorgeous results. The added dynamics between people during a little wind and rain creates energy, intimacy, bonding. And when the ground is wet, those subtle reflections from my portable lights draw the eye right back to the subject of the photograph.

Unless it’s truly unsafe, I’m not deterred by the rain and I know how to work with it.

We started at golden hour and went all the way till the moon was shining 🌖 in the night sky for this maternity photoshoot in Redmond WA. As I photographed this beautiful couple, I was taken by this mommy-to-be’s beauty, poise, confidence and strength - that is one lucky baby in her belly ❤️💪
