I have walked past this waterfall a dozen times but never taken the time to walk the pool below and take it all in. It would have been easy to sit in this spot for hours and watch the water cascading over the rocks into the pool below.

Wildflowers may be small, but they are quite a remarkable part of the mountain landscape. Emerging after last mg cold winters (not this years) to add splashes of color across the landscape.

Quick weekend backpack out to Blue Lake was a little wet. I thought I would get some breaks in the weather, but it did not let up. Definitely a type 2 fun trip. On the bright side the sound of the rain hitting the tent was peaceful and there were no mosquitoes 🦟!

Goals are not always easy to achieve. Sometimes they take a really long time. In a recent commencement speech they talked about accomplishing small wins. These small wins will eventually lead to the bigger goals. Melinda Mae accomplished her goal by doing this in the book Where the Sidewalk Ends. So take a small win today, you never know where it will lead!
