A few years ago I did a good amount of product photography and I absolutely loved it. I’m not sure what changed but I’m feeling the ping to explore it again in addition to photographing all my families 🫶🏼That’s the cool thing about being an artist - we’re always evolving, exploring and shifting, and it’s such a fun journey.

I’ve passed this thrift store quite a few times but had never gone in. The staff was so friendly and I was shocked to see a prayer request wall. What a beautiful addition 💗

Anything personalized is the way to my heart, especially when it comes to my kids. I received the most beautiful personalized necklace from with an “L” for my daughter’s name, Luna 🥹

I’m a huge fan of it being both tarnish and fade proof! I never remember to take off necklaces before I shower, so that’s a big deal for me.

I’ve been challenging myself to go back to previous sessions and share the “faceless” photos I may not have normally shared before.

You see the thing is, I’ve always taken photos of the snuggles, the kisses & the details, but I’ve also had a focus of sharing the joy in sibling’s faces on social media. Now I get to refocus and tell the story from a different perspective. I’m excited about it! I love a creative challenge.

A gentle reminder that I’m booking sessions out until August, and your date is not reserved until the contract is signed and retainer paid.

Another gentle reminder - I have tons of ideas when it comes to family photos. I adore doing things differently and incorporating things that you like to do as a family. We can hang out at a local ice cream shop, do chalk in your driveway, eat pizza in your backyard…the possibilities are endless 🥰

I’ve been battling this decision for the last year.

I’m a family photographer. This is my business. My passion. How can I market myself if I can’t share the entirety of my work?

So many thoughts raced through my mind. I stopped posting consistently and I couldn’t bring myself to share sessions even though I was SO proud of them.

I was conflicted.

I knew I needed to realign myself, make a decision and share what was on my heart.

So here it is.

For my clients, everything stays the same. I will continue capturing the adorable faces of your children and including them in your private gallery. I may just throw in some more creative prompting/angles to where their faces cannot be seen.

Part of me feels silly for even making this post, but it feels necessary. I deeply value being transparent with you all.

Also, it feels important to note that in no way am I judging or putting down other photographers who have chosen differently. Everyone has their opinions, and that’s totally okay!
