I just received my copy of America Obscura - An Explorer's Guide to the Hidden Wonders of the United States, an Atlas Obscura book. I'm happy to say that my photo of a CSX train going through historic Thurmond is featured in the West Virginia section. It's a great little book, and will be released next month. It's available for pre-order now on Amazon and other book retailers.

While you've seen dozens of photos of Cook's Mill, Greenville, Monroe County, WV, on this page, I have rarely posted photos of the miller's house, across the road from the old grist mill complex. It was built sometime in the late 19th century for the mill operator and his family. It is on the National register of Historic Places, along with the rest of the mill grounds.
