Happy New Year, everyone!!!! I kicked off 2026 with the flu 🤧…not exactly the plan. Being stuck in bed does give you plenty of time to think though. I’ve been reflecting on the past year and setting intentions for the next 12 months.
This year, I’m moving into 2026 slowly. I usually make a huge to-do list, get overwhelmed, and then… nothing gets finished. So I’m trying something different, one task at a time. ❤️

Did you know that meeting families for the first time, while exciting is also totally nerve racking for me? Yep, even after almost 10 years in business, I still get super nervous before sessions, especially with new clients. I feel so honored to have the privilege of capturing family memories, a moment in time to be cherished for years. I want every session to feel special, fun, and memorable. I guess after so many years, I’ll never lose the butterflies.

Let’s talk holiday hosting. Those who have a photographer in their life know this time of year is hectic. My home is a mess, the mail piles up, and don’t even get me started on the laundry. And then it’s Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. Growing up, my mom and dad always hosted, so naturally I took over once they got older. I hate that it falls during my busiest time of year. Every September I start to plan , maybe bake something new or add a different dish …but then I find myself at the supermarket the day before… “Sorry ma’am, we’re all out of Brussels sprouts.” I almost had to wrestle a guy for the last bag of potatoes.
But I would never want to stop hosting. No one in my family seems to care that I botched the stuffing this year. I think we’re all just grateful to be together. Maybe next year I’ll be more prepared… but probably not lol.
Five more galleries to deliver and then it’ll be time to plan for 2026. Thankful for all the beautiful families who trusted me with their photos this busy season . ❤️

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the people who matter most. I hosted this year, turkey turned out great, stuffing was a total fail…but my family still swore everything was delicious. Getting back to editing today and just feeling really grateful for them, and for another year doing what I love.

Every mom of a toddler says the same thing to me: “I’m not sure if they’ll behave…” Honestly? Almost every session this year has featured the cutest (and busiest!) little toddlers , and my answer is always the same….don’t stress about how your kid behaves.
What really makes a session magical is how the parents show up. When you come ready to match your kid’s energy, play, laugh, and just roll with it, that’s when the magic happens.
So yes, I’m getting plenty of exercise this year… 😂💛

Does anyone else feel like time is literally flying? I catch myself saying “wait… that was FOUR years ago?” at least once a week. It’s like my internal clock has completely lost track…years are just folding into each other at this point!
The last time I photographed this sweet family was when big brother was a newborn, and I swear that was only a couple of years ago. How does it go by so fast?
Trying my best these days to slow down, be present, and focus on the moment right in front of me, because if I’ve learned anything, it’s that time doesn’t wait for anyone.

It’s October and that means it’s Breast Cancer Awareness month. For the past few years I’ve been posting my experience hoping that it may inspire women to listen to their bodies and get checked.

Eight years ago, I got the call “you have cancer “. Mammograms are important and they save lives, but it didn’t find my cancer.... I did. I never missed my yearly mammogram and each time I got the “ok” all clear from my doctor. One day I noticed that one breast felt a little different than the other. No lump, no mass, nothing alarming, just a bit firmer than usual. I decided to go to my doctor. She wasn’t very concerned and said it was probably due to my monthly cycle, but ordered a mammogram just to be sure. While I waited for my appointment, the sensation I was feeling got better. I felt relieved but decided to keep my appointment just to be safe. The mammogram came back CLEAR. So the doctor ordered an ultrasound to be extra careful. The ultrasound was suspicious and a biopsy tested positive for cancer. The cancer had already spread to my lymph nodes. Invasive Lobular Cancer is very difficult to detect on a mammogram. So it is VERY important for you to “KNOW YOUR BREAST”. Know what feels “normal” for you. Double mastectomy, 14 rounds of chemo, 25 rounds of radiation, and my ovaries removed all for a stage 2 diagnosis. I’m feeling pretty good these days and I’m hopeful that this cancer will stay away. If I had told myself “I’m fine I just had a mammogram “ and not followed up with my gut instincts, it could have been much worse. I hope that all my friends listen to their bodies and spread the word xoxo ❤️

Fall sessions are nearly full! October is going to be busy! Fingers crossed for good weather. Can’t wait to see all my returning clients, truly the best part of the season!

Hi friends! It’s been a while since I’ve shared anything here. Life has been a little full lately, both in work and in my personal life. Honestly, I’ve been an emotional wreck for a lot of reasons.
For starters, my youngest left for college this summer. I really didn’t expect it to hit me this hard. I’m so excited for her, but sad for this chapter of motherhood ending.
On a harder note, my mom hasn’t been well. Watching your parents become fragile, and slowly not quite the people they’ve always been… it’s heartbreaking in ways that are hard to put into words.
And with everything going on in the world these days, it all just feels like a lot. Nothing feels quite normal anymore.
Photographing families, the laughter, the hugs, the love, it’s a reminder of what really matters. These little moments of connection feel even more important now. So I’ll be here, sharing the joy when I can. Thanks for being here with me.
